Removing Glue Residue From Graphite Shafts

I regripped some ladies Taylor Made graphite shafts this weekend that had used glue to affix the grip to the clubs. I didn't want to use a blade on the shafts so I just rubbed it with my thumb really hard to get it off giving myself a nice size blister. So what's your secret for removing glue from graphite shafts?

Glue? That sounds strange.

 

When removing tape from graphite shafts, I pull off what is there, a little heat if it is stubborn, and some goo gone to remove the sticky residue. Basically the same as for steel shafts.

I have seen where TM uses a very thin double sided tape.  It may look like glue since its a bit opaque.  But heat to remove and wipe down with mineral spirits to get the residue off.

I use mineral spirits. Heck, you can use butter or peanut butter if thats all you have. The oils should cut the glue.

GolfWorks sells an epoxy cleaner in liquid and wipes, it works well. I keep it around for this type of application.

Acetone, nail polish remover, the golf works wipes. will do the job but why glue a grip?

Use heat, a hair dryer works very well for removing that stuff.
