Question. Do we have to be able to HIT the Blades that we like? ;)

....If not, I think the Nickent ARC's are beautiful!!

Honestly... Those arc's play like a cavity... definately more forgiving than my 57's, just maybe a little harder to catch them clean.

Anyone notice that the Epon AF-301 look virtually identical to the Cleveland TA1 ? Or am I missing something ?

I'm always drawn to the TM MB Forged although they are notorious for being extremely unforgiving.

Yeah, I've heard REALLY good things about the ARC irons and wedges. It makes me want to go out and grab a set cheap off the Bay just to see if the hype is justified.

I know a set that could be on this list:

Back around '97 or '98 Tad Moore started putting out clubs on his own (his company, not part of Dunlop) and put out one of the prettiest sets of blades I've ever seen. They were high end clubs, not some of the discount store cheapos you see. They were really good lookin' clubs that were a kinda bronze-ish/copper color, and I keep my eye out for a set of them. I'd like to pick up a set on the cheap.

No love for a classic Wilson FG-17? Those are awesome. I have a pristine set except the 6 iron i plan on getting refinished some day in a satin.

Also, MacGregor PMB's...and PCB's. Wow.

THe irons in that listing are sweet!!

I would trade just about every set I own for that set of Titleist 681's with the T 127/500 Miura forged set. I blew it about 2 years ago I missed a set almost New condition that went for under 600.00. I was out bid by a SNIPER! I cried like a little baby for two days.

One of my sets I wish I never sold!

But at least I still have a very similar set with a few differences, color, grind and above set is Coin Forged as this is just forged but both done by Miura!

Here's another beautiful simple blade.

The TM set all time favorite is the coin forged CB/MB combo set. If i ever find a set i think i will buy them. I fell in love with them when i was stationed in New Jersey, ex wife had a fit when she saw them so in order to not tell her she was a biatch in the store i passed. But, i guess thats why she is my EX wife:)

Scratch is making some damn sexy blades right now. Here's a couple tour custom irons, including Ryan Moore's. Also a fan of the Vega RAF-CM Black Satin irons.

Hey Mike - what kind of finish does that second Scratch iron have? I like that alot.

You can order them direct from SMT's website. They're based here in IL, IIRC.

Wow. Didn't know that either. I will go check them out.

How can these not make your list???????

Wow, those Wilson's are very, very sexy. I have started to change my mind about this company. I think they went the route of cheap clubs for a few years but have decided that they want to be back on the top. These blades are great step in that direction. I must hit them!

My question to all, someone moving from game improvement irons, like the R7s, to Forged, what is a good starting out point. Forge, but with still some forgiveness?

That's just gonna vary from person to person based on personal preferences.....just no way to really answer that. However, there are forged offerings that run the gambit from true blades to even mid-size GI sets. You really just gotta decide what you want.

BTW, has anyone moved those two new Adams CB1's and CB2's to the list? They really need to be on the list, as well as maybe the Cleveland CG7 Tour Black Pearls.

JMHO

YMMV

I have a set on order... Should be 3-4 weeks. I'm drooling already. Those things are soooo gorgeous, I just worry about the finish, But with the limited schedule that I play, they should be fine.

Ok....just now this makes three threads, IIRC, that you've bragged about this  .......just hit them, and sell them as a used PUD set already. LOL
