Who's your pick for the win?  I'm thinking Fowler.  I really admire the Shriner's events and those that support them.  Decades of charity work targeted towards helping children and their families.

I'm a huge Kuchar fan, but he has been off form for quite awhile. I liked Finau before the start, and still do. There will be some real low scores, this morning from yesterday's  afternoon tee time crowd.

I've honestly stopped trying to pick winners for Tour events.  You might as well throw everyone's name in a bowl and pick someone at random.  Usually it's the guy that is dropping 20 footers for birdie who is in contention on Sunday that wins.  Wouldn't be surprised if we saw another guy I've never heard of win again this week, like last week with that Champ fella.

Speith didn't.  His head just isn't totally in the game right now.  When you're tossing balls into the lake after scrambling for a bogey, that's a bad sign. Still, he hangs around. How about this Cam Champs guy.  I've not really been following him much but now see he's the fastest gun on tour (avg. driver swing speed and distance). He's 6'0" and a buck seventy five, how do they do it? 🤨

Yep we support anything the Shriners do. Back when we raced dirt track we ran all the Shriners Races and donated what ever we won minus expenses back to them. We do donate regularly to their Hospital. When the Shriners hold a scramble here I donate clubs or like say 13 grips to them

He lost me as a fan last year. His head is not in the game regardless of what he says. Maybe he's too busy on wedding details or collecting sponsor $$.

So in today's post round discussion, Brandon Chamblee was talking about Cam Champs crazy driving distance and that he will be revealing, in tomorrow mornings show, the "micro moves" in his swing that are the reason for his club speeds. Anyone know what he's talking about? Why aren't we all doing this?

The above is very good. But the undercover lesson with Sean Foley is very good.

Its a 30 minute of him and Foleys discussion during a lesson.

It ends with alternating the launch and trajectory of his drives.

He hits a few with 188 ball speed and 5 or degrees of loft that carry about 290 but roll around 40 yards.

Then ups his launch to about 10 degrees and carries it 325 almost hitting a worker at the end of the ramge.

Then Foley tells him how Tiger used the stinger for so many majors.

Champ then goes back to a 5 defeee launch at 194 ball speed. Never gets higher than 75 feet or so and carries 302 with about 45 yards of roll out. He says “yeah i like that shot”

Its going to be fun to watch this kid on tour this year.

Wouldn't it be cool to have that kind of "on demand" control of your driver?  I don't have that much control of my ball retriever. Chamblee did say he's been waiting for one of the "long drive types", that also has short game and putting in the bag, to finally hit the tour.  It could just be the start of a whole new fleet of young bomber golfers. If we think the 3 club tour is bad now, oh boy!

Rickie just said in his post round interview he has “the game improvement F9 4 iron” in his bag and loves it off the tee on those tight driving holes which they will see next week at Mia Copa. When the announcer laughed about it, Rickie said. “Hey, its helping me. So thats a good thing”.

Yup. I saw a video on YouTube where he talks through his bag. Carries the f8 4i 30 yards further than his blade 4 iron.

He will swap out the f9 4i for a 5w depending on the course.

Put Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Cantlay in the same group and you’d have an 8 hour round of golf. Doesn’t matter that they reduced the size of the field to 132. With these two guys alone you don’t have enough daylight to finish a round of golf, even if they teed off at sunrise.

Where’s the pace of play warnings and penalties PGA Tour?

Put JB Holmes in that group and you would have to have the grounds crew mowing during a round. Pretty sad when grass grows faster than some of them play.

Just an observation from Deachambeau’s group from TV. Lucas Glover looked like he was ready for a stiff drink and serious medication for that meltdown he had over the closing stretch. Peter Uehlein blew up like a balloon today and shot himself way out of contention. Both were paired with Dr take forever to pull a club and crunch the numbers on how many blades of grass are growing in one direction versus the other.

It’s one thing to have a strategy and game plan for a round of golf, but frankly I think when you intentionally or unintentionally play so slow as to cause your playing partners to lose focus from their game and cause their games to go south, we have a problem.

Again, I wasn’t there, and didn’t play in this group, but I think the PGA Tour really needs to step in here and do something about this sort of nonsense.

All this talk about slow play. Yet they routinely play in four hours.

Golf just seems slow when you are only watching it and not playing.

If it was really as big of issue as some make it out to be, the TV Networks that pay hundreds of millions for the rights and have prime time programming in the mix would complain to the Tour. Then you’d see actions.

This is just my $0.02, but if you want to win on the PGA Tour, you need to be able to deal with more adversity than being paired with someone who plays slow.

You just need to block it out, and stay in your game and out of BD's.

And, I don't think that Glover or Uehlien's meltdowns had anything to do with BD. I think they are both inexperienced when it comes to playing near the lead on Sunday, and it showed. I would wager, that if Justin Thomas was in the group with BD, that he would be able to keep the mental strength to play well down the stretch. And I bet the perceived slow play, wouldn't bother him at all.

On on a side note, BD had to wait forever on 18 because of Glover, and he still hit the shots he needed to win.

On a side, side, note, what was up with Sam Ryder's yoga pants?

All great points.

But i only i have one answer for Sam Ryders pants....He lost a bet ?

I am with GB13, if you want to win on tour you are going to have to be able to play with many different players. And you cannot let their games get to you. If BAD (as his scorecard book says) takes slightly longer to play a shot the guys in his group have to find a way to deal with it.

And Sam Ryder's only excuse has to be a bet lost by him

I watched the replay of the final round last night and honestly didn't think DeChambeau played that slowly.  He took a bit longer on a few putts down the stretch, but hell, he's trying to win a tournament.  I've never really watched Cantlay much, but now see what all the ire is about - the butt wagging pre-shot routine is hard to stomach.  As for Sam's pants, I wouldn't doubt these "skinny man pants" become the rage on tour.  Up next is Phil's newest dance commercial 🤣.

Wow, "the scientist" called it at yesterday's post round interview; "... I'm going to be hard to beat".  I thought it sounded a little braggadocios, but hey, he walked the talk.  He's having an incredible year and racking up some pretty big paychecks.

I was a business major because (1) that's where I knew I wanted to live my professional life, and (2) I didn't have the intellect needed to be a STEM major.   However, at the time, had I known that some day golf would be a passion and had there been a DeChambeau  in the professional ranks, perhaps, I would have tried a "Physics" class at the risk of a negative impact on my GPA.  Now when watching the "Driver vs, Driver" and the COR is discussed or the impact of moving a weight around the club, I have no idea about what they are technically talking.     Then, I guess it should also be remembered, that at the time, clubs were called "woods" because the club heads were actually made of wood.
