West Palm Beach/Jupiter Course Recommendations?

Every January/February we travel to Florida and enjoy 4-5 rounds of golf typically over a long weekend.  We've done this for the past 5-6 years and have mainly stayed/played in central Florida.  We typically just search Google or Golf Advisor reviews prior to booking but since I'm new here, I thought I'd utilize this forum and see if anyone has recommendations for courses to play in the West Palm Beach/Jupiter area.  There will be 8-10 of us and a wide range of HC from 4-25.

What courses would you recommend and why?  I wouldn't say money doesn't matter, however, this is a golf trip so spending $150/round isn't out of the question.

By far one of my favorites in that area is only a par 3 course but it’s absolutely stunning tucked between the inter coastal and the ocean, I highly recommend

Also another great one in West palm beach is the Breakers, also a great place to stay but usually expensive unless you go inn off season.

Thanks for the recommendation.  Yes, we've played the Palm Beach GC par 3 before.  It was a blast.  Will probably do it again this year.  Its a good warm-up round right after the flight although the wind can be brutal!

I'll check out the breakers.

Lived and worked in golf in Jupiter / Tequesta for 9 years.

Abacoa Golf Club is an awesome Joe Lee design. This was my favorite public.

North Palm Beach CC is a great course that had some holes along the intracoastal. Nicklaus Design and a fun course with some hills that are nice considering it’s a South Florida course.

PGA National gets a lot of traffic and it’s ok if you don’t care about the course and just want to golf. It’s not memorable and often packed. The Champ (Honda Classic) is not worth the money in my honest opinion.

Besides that if you want to drive 20 mins north to Martin County there’s
Champions club at summerfield
The Florida Club
Hammock Creek

All three are decent and your typical Florida golf courses.

Call ahead though! It’s been 7 years since I lived there and some may have been developed or went private.

PM me for more if you have any other questions especially related to where to go following your round.

The Woods Jupiter is Tigers joint not a bad spot.

Reef Grill and Little Moir’s Food Shack. The best two restaurants I’ve visited in Jupiter / Juno. (Reef actually backs up to the world famous and ridiculously exclusive Seminole).

Good luck and have fun !!

Used to call that area home as well. I will second the Abacoa recommendation...course is always in decent shape and the greens are fantastic. Palm Beach par 3 is a lot of fun and worth it. They had recently built a new clubhouse when I last was there. Pretty cool spot to have a beer and overlooks the ocean. The Champ course at PGA National is worth it once if you've never played. The course conditions are never great and typically it is always cart path only.

Also, some of my favorite restaurants/bars in the area:

Rocco's Tacos, Square Grouper, Thirsty Turtle

Enjoy the trip!

Thirsty turtle wings were some of the best I’ve ever had. And that’s coming from a guy who lives in western, NY

Also check out Guanabana’s across from the Grouper

Wish I could be more help in the Lake Worth area...never got down that way to play. Atlantic National always gets good reviews but I personally have never played it.
