Hi guys,

Here's what's in my bag for 2018:

Driver:  G with Alta 55 stiff shaft, the 9° version but adjusted to 10° degrees

3 Wood:  XR Project X 6.0 stiff shaft 

3 Hybrid: XR Project X 6.0 stiff shaft 

Irons: Fly-Z 4-9 with stock stiff steel shafts

Wedges: Vokey SM5 46°, 50°, 54°, and 58° Dynamic Gold steel shafts

Putter: Testing  EXO 7S 34" Standard Lie, Black Shaft, Odyssey SuperStroke Mid-Slim 2.0 grip

I've got a Ping G driver (based on the MGS review and trying it out head to head with the other top rated drivers that year). I wasn’t fit for this but I’m pretty happy with the results. Although my swing speed is lower than it used to be at pretty close to 100mph, solid shots go about 250yds in the winter and 275 in firmer summer conditions.

My 3 wood and 3 hybrid are Callaway XR and I am one of the many golfers who struggles to hit a hybrid. My 4 iron thru 9 iron are Cobra Fly-Z and I’ve been fairly happy with the short and middle irons, not so much with the long irons. I went with Vokey SM5 wedges during my fitting three years ago - 46°, 50°, 54°, 58°  to round out the set and was able to finally get some noticeable backspin (using ProV1’s) which was cool at first but I never really seemed to benefit from the backspin.

I'm also including the Odyssey EXO 7S as it will be in my bag for at least the next several months as I test it. I'll give a full review on the Official Forum Member Review: Odyssey EXO Putters page.

Good looking lefty bag. I'm sure the orientation will confuse the righties out there. Just curious did you try other woods before you bought the Callaway 3 W. I'm looking at the F8.

 

I'll also be interested in your feedback on the Exo. What were you gaming before?

I honestly don't remember for sure, the fitting was three years ago but I don't recall trying any other woods. These were perfect right from the get go. The trackman numbers were great, the flight path, carry, everything looked and felt right. The fitting was done at a range so I could actually see the ball flight instead of relying solely on Trackman numbers and visuals which made me feel pretty sure of my purchase.

Most of my fitting time was spent going thru a lot of different iron options .

Most recently (5 rounds) I was using the TA3 since it did so well on the MGS putter review this year. Before that I was using a Scotty Cameron Select GoLo mid for about two years.

I'll post my Stage 1 review on the EXO 7S shortly. That will go into a lot more details on the putters and stats.
