Golfspy_CG2
Good question. They are discussing now how it will be used outside lessons. I believe there will be certain periods of time where the DOI will be having open sessions for people on the range to try for 5 minutes to see what sort of things it can do. In hopes of getting them to sign up for lessons or club fittings. Beyond that, it'll be used for scheduled club fittings and lessons. But I don't think it's just going to be set up for people to use at their leisure or requests. Gotta pay for it somehow!! Stephen1125
I have not liked Titleist drivers in the past but I think they've really got something with these. I hit both @ a demo day last week and got some phenomenal numbers with the TS3. With my M3 I average 107mph club speed and Max out around 110mph. I swung the TS3 @ 115mph with the same shaft. The TS2/TS3 I found to be very forgiving on off centre hits with good distance, the sound is typical Titleist and the looks are good. The caveat is I find the TS3 sits slightly closed to my eye so the TS2 is on my radar once I can afford it. Jbmullin
went to test drivers yesterday and landed on the top 3 of Ts2, Epic Flash and Cobra f9. I know from past testing my swing speed is in the 83-90 range , but mostly 85-87. Cobra f9 my dispersion was everywhere, I was getting good for me distance (220-230 yrds) but barely could hit the fairway. I did step on it for one and it went 251 longest of the test. Epic Flash dispersion was amazing, easy to find when they are in the fair way and was able to get over 225-230 consistently. The ts2 dispersion was amazing like the epic flash, distance … aided by what felt like the ball rolled for ever over 235 and 2 of the 10 over 245.. off center hits still stayed in the fairway. Swing speed went up to 89 and got a couple over 90. Left with a new Ts2 driver 9.5 set to 10.25 , tensei blue reg flex shaft. I have tried a lot of drivers in the last few years but this one is by far the best fit for me. perseveringgolfer, yungkory, silver & black and 2 others 5 Quote DRIVER - Ping G425 SFT Driver Tensei AV 55 Orange Reg Flex Woods - Ping G425 7 wood Tensei AV 65 Orange Reg Flex Irons - Cobra Rad Speed 1 Length UST Recoil 780 Smacwrap Graphite Reg Flex WEDGES- Callaway jaws 52/56/60 PUTTER- Taylormade FCG spider putter 34" BALL- Pro V1x or Tp5X -- trying to figure this one out. Gijoe83
TS2 is the driver choice for me!! Went in to a local Puetz golf store in Seattle with the intent to purchase a new driver, specifically the G410 or the Taylormade M6. After hitting both of these and not really liking the sound of either sweet spot hit - if it doesn't sound good, then homey don't play that! - the fitter handed me the TS2 to try out. I told him that I wasn't interested but he insisted, and I'm glad that he did! Numbers were off the charts: increased head speed by 6mph over the other two (102mph); dispersion was super tight; distance was on average better, with the long being 312yds; the spin avg was 2235; and, the sound was amazing! Needless to say, I walked out with the TS2 with the Tensei Blue stiff shaft. I've since upgraded to a UST Mamiya VTS Black in 6SX and my results are even better now than before! Love this club!!! FYI, did try the TS3 but set-up and feel weren't the same as the TS2. yungkory, perseveringgolfer, silver & black and 1 other 4 Quote Tee it high and let it fly!! HOOOAAH!! juspoole
I have been able to get a couple rounds under my belt with my new TS3 and so far this has been great. Hitting many more fairways that I have in a long time and really being able to control my ball much more. Getting my confidence back in my driver so that I can take more advantage of my length. It's a lot more fun playing from the fairway. Also, I've noticed that my distance dispersion has gotten better as well. With my old Taylormade M2, I could be anywhere from 265 to 315 when I really bomb one. Now, it seems like I have a tighter window and can rely on a solid 255 carry and get anywhere from 280 - 295 on most drives. Some of this is a properly fitted shaft as well and I have felt very comfortable with my Fujikura Pro 2.0 Tour Spec. golfinnut and yungkory 2 Quote Driver: Mavrik Sub Zero 9* (Set to 10) Ventus Blue 6X 2 Hybrid: TSI3 Hybrid Tensei Blue 80 X (17.25*) 3 Hybrid 818 H2 Hybrid Hzrdus RDX Black 6.5 (20.5*) 4 Iron - T200 4 Iron Graphite Design Tour AD IZ X Hybrid Shaft Irons 5-PW: T100-S 5 - GW KBS Tour 130 X Gap/Sand Wedge: Vokey SM6 49* SM8 54* Lob Wedge: Jaws 5 Wedge 58* DG Tour Issue Stiff Putter: Phantom 5.5 34" Pro Platinum Newport 2 35" Taylormade Tour Black Spider 34"
PMookie
I played yesterday in Memphis and after two holes with the TS3, I learned I’d be playing the round with a fade. I started aiming left of the fairway and the balls were landing dead-center! Once I started this, I finished the round with that aim and I only missed two more fairways the rest of the way. golfinnut
Why wouldn't you use the club to correct the fade or slice (whatever you want to call it)? Isn't that the point of adjustability? Especially the TS3 that has more options than the TS2. Why rely on the fade to come back a certain amount each time ... hoping that it does? GB13
But if it's consistent, why does it matter? Bubba hits huuuge slices, but he knows they'll come back and hit the fairway. It doesn't really matter how much movement there is if it's controlled. And it sounds like a big hook is the miss here, and this ball flight is taking it out of play. And it sounds like a big hook is the miss here, and this ball flight is taking it out of play. While he may be getting 280 out of it the ball flight characteristics aren’t optimal and a change in weather would have an impact on the ball. Also it may be consistent for that round or a couple rounds but a change in face and/or path could be trouble. 1) bubba is a pro and has tremendous hand eye coordination and club face control compared to amateurs including internet ones. 2) bubba hits a shot that he needs/sees at the moment so it can be a small movement or a big one but it’s one he practices 3) when bubba misses its normally a big miss golfinnut 1 Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1
