As a result of recently getting officially older, I've got a new bag, and even better, some shiny things to go in it.

Mizuno MP18 MMC 5-P, with Project X LZ 5.5 shafts. I'm also going to replace my Scor wedges with a new set of Ben Hogan TK's. Bag is a Ping Pioneer that I got a great deal on.

 

Until I can find a driver and fairways that I can hit better than my current (very old) set up, they'll stay in the (new) bag.

Jlukes is right, Peak.

It's hard to argue with classic-style Mizunos.

A mixed set of MP14s and MP29s helped the Tiger get started taking over the world.

They come one degree flatter than most new irons, which means they'd fit me right off the shelf.

 

I also love the Ping Pioneer.  Enjoy the fifteenth slot!

Originally I was leaning strongly towards the JPX 900 Tours, but they finished up just before I was ready to buy. Didn't love the 919's, but these MMC's got me excited from the first swing. 

 

Taking them out out for a run this morning.

I looked for a very long time before settling on that exact same bag (in black). I’m really happy with it after about 60 days. My only complaint is the magnetic pocket. I’d like to see a different type fastener. If I’m not careful I tend to dump everything out of it. Very frustrating.

At my iron fitting I hit the Mizuno ST180, which I had previously hit at a demo day. My fitter on the day was our club pro who knows my swing pretty well told me not to bother as I hit the old Nickent better. I'm not sure how much of my love for the Nickent and old TM fairways is due to familiarity, and how much is due to the Grafalloy Epics being a perfect fit for my swing. I'd love to try modern heads with these shafts to see how things went.

Nice! How do you do with the 5 iron? I'm thinking of updating my 5 SC to the MMC. I'm not hitting it consistently and am being penalized decently on mishits.

Update time, most rapid bag change I've ever had. 

 

Ping G400 SFT comes in, now to see if I can better the old fairways and hybrid.

 

Love the feel of the Aldila XTorsion Copper shaft. Finally found a shaft that feels and performs as good as the old Grafalloy Epic.
