Big thanks to @blackngold_blood for the hot tip on coverage.  I was able to pick up The Match around Hole 12 and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I get it that the commentators need to fill time so I let the goofy banter slide.  The ending was great drama and my only thought was "of course it goes to hole 22, this is a PPV event with heavy Vegas interest, they're going to milk it as far as it goes."

The results of the contest are going to take a bit to tally due to the fact that WAY more entered than expected.  Those that picked AS thru 18 (all 9 of you) and those that picked Phil to win are sitting in a pretty good spot right now.  Here's what I have for the final bet results...does anyone have any different?

I guess it could also be said that anyone who bet heavy Phil is in really good shape.  Although Tiger lasted to extra holes, I'm surprised to see him lose big everywhere else including the side bets with Phil.

 

 

Edit: Did it make anyone cringe watching them hit full shots off the putting green?  Oooo I could barely watch

I agree. Thanks for putting this together Stud. I kept going back and forth to see how I was doing which helped to break up the in between shots part.
I also thought there would be a lot more aide betting and trash talk which in my mind was disappointing. After the chip in it was funny to hear Phil talk about how Tiger had been doing that to him for 20 years! They definitely needed more of that type of banter.

No thanks necessary. I wasn’t sure if it would be a problem or not. Plus I got it from somebody else and didn’t want to throw them under the bus if there was a chance for him to get in trouble. Since it seems that they made it free, I’d like to thank Randy from Fried Eggs Golf for mentioning it in a live stream.

Just to let everyone know, the scoring for this was more complicated than we anticipated, but we should have it wrapped up by the end of the week to announce the winners.

Sorry TIger fans.  I cursed him.  Is there a prize for most money lost in this?  I might have that one locked up.

A few years ago we had a poker night during one of the final four games of March Madness.  I think I made it to the 15th prop bet out of 20 before I got one right.  I'm feeling that this one might be close to that.

Dead last would be something to laugh about. Hovering at the 10th percentile provides little consolation. But at least I can use this as an inexpensive reminder to stay far away from the tables in Vegas.

Wanted to send a special thanks to @bergtaur for helping us handjam the entries.  Color me surprised at the amount of entries received for this but I suppose that's what I get for underestimating this awesome membership.  

 

Here's some fun facts:

• 70% of the entries won "money"
• Collectively, the MGS community would've won $112,873 or $446 each if we split it up in an even pool
• The top 8 were the only members to double their money.  At a $2100 bet, I'm not sure that juice is worth the squeeze
• Had either Tiger or Phil popped a Hole-In-One, there was potential for big winnings.  Once The Match went to the special 20th hole, I really thought it was going to happen.  All 14 of you must've been quaking in your boots

 

For the fan favorite, IRRELEVANT AWARD, Congratulations to @BIG STU @gusmaue @MadisonGolfbum @peterhvon @Dragon3

You 5 managed to enter the anti-winner bets.  If you had chosen opposite in every single bet, you would've won the pool.  Take that for what it's worth and put it to good use next time.  Can't wait to see one of you in the winners circle!
