Har in the Hat
On 11/27/2018 at 8:20 AM, TheWahoo said: My response to golf, or rather the lack of it, during the winter months utilizes two factors. One is the understanding that I am somewhat fortunate and the other may be labelled perhaps as philosophical. I am fortunate because I live close to and play mostly on the Eastern Shore. Quite often the temperature in Ocean City can be 10 degrees warmer than on the mainland, so it is no problem for my buds and I to take a day trip if we monitor the weather, plus my brother lives in Ocean City. Accordingly, I get the occasional opportunity to play during the winter months. Additionally, my age is helpful, I have some retired friends that snowbird in Florida and California, so I typically get an invitation to visit. On the philosophical level, just as the weather is seasonal, I perceive my golf to be seasonal in response. Just as I perceive the Spring to be a renewal of nature, it likewise is a renewal of my golf game. As in other seasonal sports, just as an individual or team had a bad prior season, they anticipate the coming season with renewed optimism, I do the same regarding my game in the coming season. While "in season" is when I train by body to improve, the "off season" is when I train my brain for the coming season. I visualize my swing, what I will do this season as opposed to last. My brain is telling my body how in will now respond in the coming year. Whether my body will respond is to be determined, but at least it has been instructed. Very interesting reply Wahoo. I enjoyed reading it . That's a great way of analyzing the situation at hand Thanks for that. What's in my Mizuno BR-D2 bag OFFICIAL TESTER FOR THE PING i500 CLUBS. dhartmann34
A week ago, we got 10"+ of snow. Over the past day or so we've gotten a couple inches of rain... Which has melted much of the snow, but has left everything a wet mess. Now tonight it's supposed to change back to snow this evening and make everything white again. I'm keeping my sanity by chipping/putting on my birdieball green and practicing with my Smartball. Hoping it'll get me ready for the new season. A big positive it's that I'll be in Arizona and Florida for about 8 days each over the next month and a half. I'll certainly be getting rounds in... Shankster
I walk passed my clubs twice a day. First time I’ve ever left them in the garage. Just sitting there... haven’t picked one up other than to move it away from the snow shovel in over a month. It’s like seeing pictures of the beaches in the Caribbean. Good news is, there’s only 6 months of this crap left.
