Mizuno JPX 919 Iron Family

I just got fitted for the jpx 919 hot metal pro.  I actually went in to be fitted for the forged irons but were blown away by the feel, look, and performance of the pro.  KBS tour stiff shafts, 1/2 inch long and 2 degrees upright.  Definitely sexy beasts.  Went outside at their range on a cold (37 degree) Indiana day and they still felt like butter.  Very controllable flight (very slight draw) but was still able to hit the fade on command.  Can't wait to get them next week and for the weather to break but for now its simulator golf.

Welcome to the club! Exactly what happened when I went to a fitting thinking the Forged would be winners! Mine arrive tomorrow.

Went to the local pga store hit and hit all 3 on the Foresight, the Regular hot metals were the best for me, it wasnt a fitting though so that could change, they all feel great and the hot metals were long and wicked straight for me. Attached are the 7 iron stats for one of the better shots I was hitting. 

Overall I was seeing about 10-15 yards more carry and much higher shots...Not sure if I'm ready to pull the trigger, I have more self improvement to do first, but these are high on the list if I hit some handicap goals by end of season.

Mizuno always makes fantastic clubs.n Its hard to go wrong here. They always have such amazing feel to them. DEFINITLEY get fit and also request gapping. Adjusting for gap between clubs will pay dividends on the course PLUS provide you with data what distance you hit the clubs without having to spend hours on the course and range.

I love the look of these things. Now if only my local club champion would contact me back so I can get a proper fit that Golf Galaxy probably wont be able to do since when I first wanted to demo them I was switching out the shafts from the cart myself lol Would love to see what they do with a higher spinning ball.

I tested out the forged vs tour. I have to say they feel hot off the face vs the tour. However, I love the shape of the Tour and consistency. So I ended up ordering them. Now they just released Hot Metal Pro which apparently if I read correctly have less offset than the forged. May be a great in between?

I’ve thrown the hot metal pro into the list I want to try. Not a huge fan of offset but haven’t really seen the lineup in person yet

I can show you how to update your handicap in your profile, if you need help with that, because with those numbers, it doesn't look like a 24, or won't be for long anyway.

I was thinking the same thing haha. 24 handicap with that speed, launch, spin, descent angle. I wish I had that.

I also wonder why I am so bad, my last two scores were a 109 and a 112...send help please, I'm just terribly inconsistent...I'm hopinng to remedy that this year.

I feel your pain with the inconsistency! However, I will say that short game is the key. I played in a 2-man scramble this past Sunday and didn't hit one single straight drive, but I was able to help with chipping and putting. Tied for 2nd

Look at the side-by-side pic I posted. The Sub70 639 CB is on the left, and the HM Pro is on the right. There is very little offset in the HM Pros.

HM Pros beat the forged in my fitting and the feel difference simply wasn’t there. Tighter dispersion, and consistency. But, as they say, “6-to-1, 1/2 dozen the other.”

Only in the fitting. We’ve had so much rain, I won’t be swinging them until I go out of town for work, but hopefully soon.
The 7 iron is the same loft as my 6 iron was, and the fitting showed the 7 to be 10 yards longer than my 6. Feel was one of the factors of why I chose them over the Forged. Yeah, I can’t wait to get them on-course to see how much further they go! Gonna be an adjustment.

I would love to try out all of these sexy looking irons, but I would probably be too tempted to purchase, and those prices are not sexy, they are way too steep.

I believe that's correct. I think he sells things below MAP so he can't advertise his prices.

For Titleist, you have to call, but for most anything else you can email them for a price.
