Titleist: Will My Golf Ball Still Perform In The Cold?

Saw this online and thought it was interesting as I’ve seen different data before. For those playing in much colder temps, it’s a nice article to read for ideas.

It’ll perform but won’t be able to compress as much and so the rebound is reduced and thus it goes less distance. If you play long enough you learn to adjust for temp, elevation up or down, wind, lies good and bad, different things all effect the flight and sometimes we can use it to our advantage. If I got 150 yards, uphill where the green is above me, wind at 10mph in the face and it’s 55 degrees F. In my head I’m thinking add 7-10 yards for uphill, add another 10 yard for wind, add another 8-10 yards for the cold. So I grab the 180 club to hit it stock or flighted down to hit the 150 number and then you gotta take a slight amount off to account for lower launch, less spin and less stopping power. So try to hit the 180 club about 75% and fly it 145. A lot to think about but it’s like 2 seconds for me because it’s a feel thing and experience thing that we all learn after thousands of rounds, buckets of balls and playing our whole lives.
