Weird Winter Feeling

So maybe it's just because of current financial constraints that I've disciplined myself to not dwell on it too much, but so far this is the first off-season I've experienced where I wasn't chomping at the bit to do anything golf related. I haven't hit a golf ball or even swung a club outside since taking a lesson over a month ago. I have taken a few swings in the living room and will occasionally work on some positions from that lesson, but that's it. Normally, I'm trying to squeeze a few more rounds out before the cold really sets in and planning some off-season club swaps or modifications to keep things interesting. It's not uncommon for me to have the net up in the garage and a couple hundred swings in already either. So far though, none of those things have happened and I don't feel the need to. It's very strange for me. Anyone else ever experience this?

yup- it's winter!

Its dark here till 8.45am then Dark AGAIN at 4pm.

Its 24* today, forecast of snow this weekend and even colder next week.

I think it's the prospect of knowing it will be MONTHS of this that makes me feel similarly, maybe you too?

Once we hit February the prospect looks brighter...........

My first hand spy report confirms that wintering in AZ is the cure.    I will say that if I was still working in the PNW (Pugetropolis), I would invest in a decent LM system that allowed me to both practice/evaluate hitting and play rounds at courses around the globe.

I'm the same way I don't even miss golf right now. Haven't put the golf channel on at all either.

I haven’t dialed in the golf channel on direct tv in over 2 years or more. If I remember right, all the pre and post tourney coverage they have is just endless hours of rubbish talking.But it did one positive thing recall.It cured any sleeping issues I had and conked me out faster than any tablet on  the market.My sleeping issues are back, maybe I need to dial in that channel again

I only have Golf Channel as part of my Sling package at home (MT).  The cable TV we get here at the park in Yuma does not have GC and, not having my old reliable save me from this never ending diarrhea masquerading as television programs, I REALLY miss it!

If you have sling you can stream GC on your laptop or tablet.

Yea, thought about that but we need lots more data than we currently have on our mobile phone plan.  ATT has an unlimited but it does not allow hotspot function.

It’s weird being off this much without golf. Like stated above I really haven’t missed it too much and haven’t even start watching the golf channel yet. I think once they hit the Hawaii courses it will kick back in again. What helps is a group of 12 started planning our Ryder cup golf trip already out of boredom

The park has free wifi but you have to constantly run over and feed the squirrels to keep the speed up .

Yeah, maybe once we near the end of silly season... I'm sure I'll watch the TOC, but don't think I've ever watched the Sony (other than highlights). I am at least mildly anxious to see how the new tour schedule plays out. It'll be interesting to see how both players and fans react to the PGA Championship occurring just 1 month after The Masters.
