I remember being in elementary school and thinking that when I turned 50 in 2018 we would be living like the Jetsons!!! Not so much! Ha! It’s just a number, but this past year has seen some health issues pop-up, and my swing speed go down! Pretty crazy to hit 50... “Book ‘em, Dano! I’m 5-0!”

 

Let’s see if 2019 sees my GHIN be 10% of my age.... That would be cool!!!

I wish Mookie a Happy Birthday as well.   I find one of the advantages of being in the 70 club, is that businesses just give you the senior discount and don't bother asking your age.   Somehow they just know.

Um, no it’s not. At 30 I could still run a 10k without worrying about finishing. At 30 I didn’t have back pain, hip pain, wrist pain, digestive disorders and assorted other physical signs of my body telling me to cut that crap out. My double chin came at 40 and now I have hair where I don’t want it, and no hair where I do want it. No such thoughts at 30. Call me a buzzkill if you want, but being 50 ain’t no 30. Not even close.

On my 49th birthday I noticed that I had a full head of hair compared to my contemporaries. So I would flaunt that by not cutting my hair for the next year and have a ponytail on my 50th birthday. Luckily, we celebrated my 50th a few days early, and I was able to get that mop cut off on my birthday.
Now 4 1/2 years later, I have my hair cut to 1/4” because otherwise my hair is too thin on top, and it looks like the start of a combover.
And if you think your swing speed has gone down now, just add a major injury along with the age.
