Errors on desktop version

Past couple of days I get the following message when i click on the site (see screen print). It goes away when I click on "recent content"

I did not see @tony@CIC's post from December, but I'm seeing similar behavior the last few days. See screenshots below. 

This time, there only ended up being a couple repeat threads, but I have seen many, many more (up to 15-20?). I assume the OP is trying multiple times and not seeing it work? When I click on any of the links, I see the message below.

This is one we've seen on a few occasions, and we're trying to get to the bottom of it. Some of the times when a user posts a number of duplicate threads, one of us is right on it, deleting all the duplicate, so that if you click on them, you get an error. But there's something else also happening here with some users bring unable to post successfully that we're trying to solve.

Maybe not connected but I get the 'RECENT CONTENT' button which moves to under 'MORAL CODES'. I have to click on the MGS logo top right to reload and get it back to it's rightful place.

 

I also get the page freezing and have to reload again- when it happens I check other websites in different tabs and they all work, just in case it was my internet but seems localised to MGS webpage.

They're both not big issues but worth you knowing as it might be an indication of other issues.

Over the past week, a few times the site would not load - getting timed out. I assume the server is getting crushed with the Ping 410 testing opportunity. No problems the past two days.

Mine moves to a "More" button that only seems to exist on the home page, and when that happens I can't get to the standard "Recent Content" feed, it has to be filtered by "Content I posted in" or one of those options. Once I get to that page, the "Recent Content" button has moved back to its normal position and the "More" button has disappeared. Then I can click "Recent content" and get the feed I was looking for or unfilter the selection I previously made. Not a huge bug or anything, but very strange...

happening constantly now- even clicking the MGS logo doesn't correct it

For the past week or better, I've noticed that the "Recent Content" short-cut has been a bit "off". Sometimes when the forum web-page populates, this feature is missing and you have to do a page refresh to have it re-appear. Other times like when I'm inside a thread, go back to the top and select "Recent Content" and nothing happens. On this bug, sometimes a page refresh fixes it and sometimes not.

FYI, this is on a couple of different machines, one using Google Chrome & the other using Explorer 10 I believe.

All who are having the "Recent Content" problem: can you reply and tell me what OS and browser you're using?

10-4. I must have missed it when picking through the threads there, sorry, but thanks for the quick pick-up! I just added browser details to my response before typing here. Chrome & Explorer 10

It does appear, in part, to be related to your screen size/resolution. If I take my window and drag it and make it narrower, the "Recent Content" button disappears and ends up under the "More" menu. If I make it even narrower, the page actually transitions to the mobile version format.

We'll keep looking into it, but (right now) it looks like a "feature, not a bug" thing that still needs to be tweaked.

I'm using the same OS and browser and no issues so it must be related to your specific computer and settings.

I use Pro which has additional network configurations which might be causing it. On saying that it hasn't acted up today
