Putting Swords? Worth it?

I've seen a lot of people using the putting swords for practice. Anyone use them? Are they worth $29?

Never heard of devices/training aids like that referred to as swords. But I guess by looking at the photo above I can see why. Anyway... I have no problem with anyone using a putting training aid. Or any training aid for that matter. As for their worth... if it works for you then it works. Not all training aids are equal for everyone.

I think you'll likely hear the same advice from several of us: yes, putting along a ruler is a great test for seeing if you are starting your putts on your intended line. But save some money and just buy a metal ruler: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002BXPUKO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_yrojCbA025W00

A quick trip to Home Depot or Lowes gets you one for under $10.  Cheapest golf training aid out there.

While you're at Home Depot also get a few orange driveway markers - the "value" ;-) buyers version of golf store alignment sticks. You can set two up parallel and close together to make a putting "chute".

I just borrowed one from my wife's photo business.  Works great to see if your putter face is square at impact.

They've summed it up perfectly. Yes, it's helpful for putting, yes all you need is a cheap metal ruler, and yes, orange driveway markers make great alignment sticks.
