2019 Official MGS Fantasy Golf League

Decision time:

Player A: averages 41.22 points per event, made 18/23 cuts, 5 T25s and 4 T10s.

Player B: averages 34.4 points per event, made 8/15 cuts, 4 T25s, 2 T10s, 2 T3s, and 1 W.

Basically, Player A is getting me consistent points, but Player B statistically (and historically) has a much higher ceiling. Player B isn't someone I wanted on my team, but I felt like I had to draft him when he was available. I didn't want him specifically for this reason: he's a high volatility guy, with a low floor and a high ceiling.

So who are you going with? Got your pick locked in before I tell you the names? I've got Player A in my lineup now.

Player A is Joaquin Niemann. Player B is Phil.

Tough call, the math says Neimann, but it's a definite risk reward scenario.

Furyk or Sabbo?

Gut says Sabbo, but Furyk is a lower risk play.

Not this year. Sabbo is just as low risk. A change in nationality has done the elder Rory good.

Yes it has, he was an absolute steal in the 10th round.

0-5 here I come. With 6 guys playing this week, who knew that Justin Harding would have almost as many points as Matsuyama, Woodland, and Mickelson combined. Gonna need Kisner to go nuts over the weekend. Otherwise just going to have to root for Bjerregaard to win with Rahm second for a shot at the SpySlam!

You should have known better. With our trade you had Bradley before trade went through, then Tringale last week, and now Lowry this week, all had/have a shot a the win.

Dang, tough luck to go 4-1 and still move down in the standings. Lots of big scores all around me. Congrats to the following owners for going 5-0 in our final major:

As we sprint to the finish, WGC St Jude is our final Tier 2 event of the season and the last big opportunity to set yourself up for the playoffs. Digest matchups are already set. 

In Truth, @GB13 has locked up the #1 seed with the first round bonus but slots 2-4 are anybody's game. Digest, on the other hand, has a 4 way tie for the lead with multiple teams close behind. Top 8 in each division (playoff qualified) also has a lot of flexibility depending on how the next 2 weeks go. 

Should be a free-for-all to the finish as the Wyndham is the only event between St Jude and the playoffs. Good luck everyone!

 

 

Edit: I added a stat category as well.  The text is "Albatross in Major" but that's the category we'll use for the regular season bonus in round 1 of the playoffs. None were made this year so that category won't affect any previous results.

Wow this is an interesting week.  Four way tie for 1st place and these are my matchups:

GB13 - number 1 overall
Undershooter30 - tied for 1st
TWO matchups against Shankster who is one game behind me.

Seems like this is my ultimate make or break week.  Not sure if we can change it for this week but in the future I would suggest we make a rule that you can't play the same person two times in the same week.

Having the tournament leader, 2 in the top 3, 3 in the top 4 and all 4 in the top 14 after 3 days sure is nice. 

 

It really is going to be interesting to see how my lineup implodes on itself tomorrow
