tommc23
Okay folks I'm wondering if this meal is something that we do just in PA or other German heavy areas. Pork and sauerkraut is a meal that we generally eat this as a meal on new years day. I'd like to see who all eats this on new year's day.

PING Apologist #9
We always head over to my Mother-in-Law's for lunch. She, being a West Texas native (like the wife), always has a mess of ham, collared greens, black-eyed peas and cornbread baked right up in her cast iron skillet. Sweet tea and Dr. Pepper to drink of course. With the exception of the greens (I am a damn Yankee after-all...), YUM! Enjoy the day all! Shankster
We are spicing things up with some Chicken Tortilla soup.Sort of a weird tradition for us, a large Asian dinner on NYE, followed by some TexMex on NYD.My favorite food holiday of the year is Cinco De Mayo... tacos all day. revkev
I grew up with the pork tradition (my mom was from PA). We’ve switched that to grilled brats on the beach on New Years Eve though. We always go out for dinner on New Years Day now. tommc23
I know the pork and sauerkraut thing is a big PA dutch thing so I wanted to see if anyone else had anything. Looks like at least I'm not the only one that has some kind of tradition.
