chisag
... I wonder if some of you have fallen off the wagon because you are taking on too much? At 66 I need to keep doing my 2 sets of 25 because it keeps my core, shoulders, arms and upper back strong and in athletic shape and I think it is essential for playing good golf. I thought about trying to increase the reps but what I am doing is still difficult enough for me to reap the benefits, so I will just keep my current program a long as I can. ole gray 1 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... Prepping to move and moving is my excuse. Which isn’t much of an excuse. I got up to 210 a day before I was side tracked.I really need to add in more stretching, core and lower body. Not sure what it is, but it seems since turning 34 a few years ago, I can’t recover like I used to. Extremely stiff joints and sore muscles every morning. alfriday101
I did 100 a day up until the golf season kicked into high gear. I now do 50 a day. Doing 100 and playing golf causes my right elbow to hurt. (I injured my elbow years ago and it flares up on occasion.) It sucks to get old, but it beats the alternative. I do have good news on the diet front. I hit my goal weight of 187 pounds this week. I started at 223 the day after Christmas. I still have about 10 pounds of mayonnaise around the middle, so I don't have any plans to change my eating habits. tony@CIC, Shankster, downlowkey and 1 other

ole gray
I did 100 pushups at my gym today! Not all at one time yet however I did five sets of 20 military style. I'm puffing out my chest like a stud bull in a pretty little heifers pen. I usually do 60 during my gym visits (four times per week ) however today I decided to bump it up to 80. I was doing my cool down stretches and thought, no way am I leaving without knocking out 20 more! I'll be 69 years old this November so the old man is still humping it. Hooah! tony@CIC
OG you're spot on - I think the older one gets the more important it becomes. Big money
Great job Ole Grey. I did 80 myself today at the gym this morning. Four sets of 20, getting nice and low and slow. My damn shoulder gets me off of the 100 a day challenge. So I’m doing 80-100 3x times a week. For strength and core building. Push ups are really the ultimate. And adding in planks and pull ups ( if we can do them ) are one heck of a work out. I do believe a 100 a day for maybe 3-6 months would show some huge body changes in all of us Shankster and ole gray 2 Quote Keep it in the short stuff
