tommc23
We have a favorite author thread so why not do favorite book. Like some have done in the author one you can put best book by genre. It's sad to say but some of the best books I've read were in high school. The two best books I've ever read and truly enjoyed were: 1984 & The Great Gatsby

Mr. 82
I don't know if this violates the Morale Codes with regards to religion, but The Bible is my favorite book. Granted, it's more than a book, and perhaps you were referring to a specific genre of book, not something as unique as The Bible. Honestly, the subject is too vague for me to answer. Favorite fiction book? Favorite non-fiction book? Favorite biography? Favorite historical fiction/non-fiction? Yeah, I can torpedo any thread, depending on my mood and day. LeftyHawk
A few come to mind, but I recently read Bagger Vance, the book not the movie. The ending was a little different than what I expected, but over all a great golf book. Also Tommy's Honour was a great read also. Chris 1 Quote Far and Sure...... sixcat
"The Match" by Mark Frost. I've read it a couple of times over the years. These two threads have me thinking I may read it again soon. Given some of the movies that have been made in recent years, I can't understand why this hasn't been one of them.

StrokerAce
so so many... my 8th grader just finished reading To Kill a Mockingbird - he didn't like it but it is one of my all time favorites.... high schooler is reading The Catcher in the Rye - another classic One of the funniest I've ever read is A Walk in the woods - the movie did not do it justice. My favorite genre is nonfiction and there are so many incredible stories out there - Unbroken is absolutely incredible...hard to believe it was even real. Alive and Into Thin Air were both stunning as well. I suppose I could go on and on. I'll have to come back and edit as I recall more. 3 Quote I got something to say then I'm gonna say it. darel2020
I really like his short story called Hills Like White Elephants. It tells the story of a woman's difficult story, her relationship with a man who does not love her. I recommend hills like white elephants to read you will definitely think and look at our lives differently. I was also strongly hooked by the heroine's phrase "what is missed, will never return" - it was felt that she dropped her hands and she had no strength left to fight for herself. I've found myself hesitant to recommend books sometimes just from the fear of them not liking it - there is a weird vulnerability for me in sharing books with others, not entirely sure why. One of my all time classics is East of Eden by Steinbeck. And recently, from the fantasy genre I really enjoyed the Mistborn series. 4 Quote Right Handed Driver: 9° Speedzone (HZRDUS Smoke Green 70g X-Stiff shaft) 2 Hybrid: 18° Exotics EXS Pro (Evenflow Black 6.5) (2020 MGS Official Review here) 3/Driving Iron: 18° UiHi Iron (MMT Utility TX 105g shaft) Irons: 4-GW T100 irons (Nippon Modus 120 X-Stiff shafts) (2021 MGS Official Review here) Wedges: 54° & 58° TSW Forged (Dynamic Gold S300) Putter: ER2B (2019 MGS Official Review here) Ball: MAXFLI Tour X Bag: Hoofer Lite WITB thread here
DiscipleofPenick
Still love The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings. Jack London and Joseph Conrad have lots of good stuff. Right now I'm reading Catch 22 and this is a great book. Like others, The Great Gatsby is also good.I was a history major, so in grad school I read mountains of non-fiction. In a 16 week class we would read at least 12 books plus whatever you also read for your research papers. I'm happy to make recommendations if there are other history buffs out here.Take Dead Aim 3 Quote Take Dead Aim Driver: PXG 0211 10.5* Fairway: Titleist 917 F3 15* Hybrid: Adams Idea Pro Boxer Gold 18* Irons: Titleist 714CB 4-PW Wedges: Vokey SM5 & SM6 50/54/58 Putter: SeeMore X2 Costa del Mar Ball: Srixon Z-Star
