GolfSpy Barbajo
I know it's been bandied about for the last week or so, but just got official word from Bridgestone that Brandt Snedeker is leaving the brand. Not sure if it's a matter of his contract running out and not being renewed, or if he decided on his own to look for greener pastures, but here's the official statement: “For more than a decade, Brandt Snedeker has served as a tremendous ambassador for the Bridgestone Golf brand, and we are proud to have been the equipment partner he trusted for all 9 of his PGA TOUR career victories, including his thrilling FedEx Cup points title in 2012. “Sneds” will forever hold a special place in the Bridgestone Golf heritage. We wish him nothing but continued success and happiness both on and off the course.” Folks at Bridgestone tell me Snedeker is one of the truly good guys, and he worked very hard with the golf ball group. And he always grabbed the check at dinner. Have heard rumblings about some TaylorMade stuff finding its way back int o Snedeker's bag...have you guys seen/heard anything? Golfspy_CG2
Will be interesting to see where he lands. I can vouch for him being one of the good guys. Had the opportunity meet and have lunch with him at an Adidas launch several years ago, and while he had to be there, the conversation he had with us was truly engaging, asking all sorts of questions about us, our games, etc. Never came off as a forced to be there, or faking it. RickyBobby_PR
While the evidence was out there for awhile it’s still surprising. It’s hard to think of Bridgestone and not have him or Kuchar come to mind. EthanSterlingPrice
My bet is on TaylorMade but Callaway sure is swiping up a bunch of these fellas recently. I think he played the TaylorMade Burner for a few years after the newer models so we know he’s liked their gear in the past. bens197
I don’t know what PXG’s budget looks like but he absolutely fits that mold. He’s a friendlier and less dramatic Horschel and has the chops like ZJ without the major. StrokerAce
....wow...just when Bridgestone was getting back into the equipment game. With everyone fighting over that "last 1 percent" I can't see how they are able to stick with it and make a profit. Perhaps someone new will join? Maybe a web.com superstar that just joined the tour? Sign up & comers with incentive laden contracts, and hope one or two hit big! The money you're paying them they've earned back for the brand in multiples. StrokerAce
...certainly so! and you'd hope that there is some loyalty established once they do become a superstar. one of the problems I see is that you need to be good at finding those players who will get exposure on television....I wonder if the 'big boys' swoop in and sign those web.com/college stars early or they focus on their current tour players? Most sign with a brand when they turn pro and/or earn playing status on the euro/pga web/challenge tour. Most are probably shots in the dark outside of the high ranking college players MGoBlue100 1 Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1

Ben Berube
Thanks for the details and replies gents. But BStone is killing it with golf ball sales having locked up the worlds best TW. Plus BStone is a true manufacture and golf balls are where they started. Also after watching the US AM last couple days all of those kids are already locked up on equipment deals. Ping and playing Ping while TMag and Addis clothes (even tho they are seperate now) with Nike clothing deals. Sure most are college deals but the Hooter Tour player I know plus a couple working into Korn Ferry Tour they get locked up quickly even if its just free equipment and fittings anytime they can stop in. Plus their OEM rep will always be in contact pushing new gear in hopes they all end up on TV or Web. yungkory
