Anyone else have badges falling off of Wilson C300s?

Recommended Posts

As much as I love the quality & value that W/S brings to the table, this is a side effect of their company size and price point. I wouldn't expect the same response from W/S than a Ping or a Titleist or Callaway... just as I wouldn't expect the same level of service from a dealership if I bought a Corolla vs a Lexus.

I do like that W/S will help out if you send the club back, and I understand their reasoning, but they just don't sell at the volume of a major OEM, so they're not going to have parts from clubs built 10-20 years ago like a Ping.

In any event - I hope this all works out for the OP. W/S has always been open with communications in my experience and I'm looking forward to a pic of the irons with new badges on them.

The thing is Wilson Golf was one of, if not the largest of the OEM’s at one point. In the 1960’s, 70’s and even the 80’s, Wilson Irons were in most people’s bags. Once they started selling junk clubs through WalMart they diluted the brand to the point serious golfers wanted nothing to do with them.

I don’t know how many articles I’ve read, usually with every new Wilson release lately, how the President or CEO of Wilson declares that “Wilson is back” with their C300 irons, or their Triton driver.

They should be able to fix a faulty club. They should care that their club in a players bag represents quality. How much would it cost for them to pay for shipping to have the club sent to them for repair? Now how much money are they losing when players have the perception that they are still a Walmart brand?

“Driver vs. Driver”, Power Holes, whatever. Wilson is still Wilson.

I had a badge issue with a different brand, I hit a lot at the range=clean my cleans a lot. I think the water allow the dirt to get behind the badge and work at the stick back. I called TE and they sent me some new badges. Many badges are club specific as they add swing weight. good luck

I wanted to follow up again on this issue because it would otherwise be unfair to Wilson. I also would like to highlight the customer service I've received from Diamond Tour/Hurricane Golf and owner Jason Hiland.

Jason personally reached out to my by phone today to confirm my email address so he could loop me in on a thread with his Wilson territory rep. Wilson is going to be sending a prepaid label for the two clubs, and they will be repairing and returning them to me at no charge.

I am shocked at the excellent customer service provided by Jason -- probably near the best retail experience of my life to this point. He was insistent that even though the clubs were demos that he would stand by the products he sells 100 percent.

Again, Wilson customer service was certainly not in the wrong here as their policy officially states they do not warranty clubs purchased through eBay or Craigslist. But massive appreciation to Jason and Diamond Tour for their work in making this a happy ending.

That's great to hear - and appreciate the follow up.

That's pretty amazing customer service.  (A lost art these days, sadly)  I was not familiar with Diamond Tour/Hurricane prior to this thread, but you can tell Jason that I will find SOMETHING to purchase from them just because they hooked you up.  Even if I don't need the item, which I probably won't/don't. 🤣

Great to hear! A couple of bucks for shipping and a few minutes of labor and Wilson wins you as a customer. That’s how companies should operate. Good on them and Diamond Tour for taking care of you.

Might take a look at their new brand Sub 70. Very nice looking irons and wedges. They will be part of MGS testing this year, I believe.

Took about a year, but now have officially flipped my bag for the first time. Year before, I began inundating myself in golf knowledge and equipment. Learned how the swing path and club face work together, how to shape shots and have made great progress. Now I know exactly what I'm doing, and most often know why. So far I've seen my handicap drop significantly, (15-17 down to 5-8). Technically at this point, I'm a 5 handicap, but that was one score out of 5 (5, 18 hole rounds. I've played quite a bit of 9 hole rounds) and I believe I'm closer to an 8 realistically. But maybe I'll be lower and near a 5 this year with thMP-18e clubs in my bag fully updated and have more experience with each club.
Updated my driver and 3W shaft as well after getting them last year and I think that will be a game changer and lower my scores by hitting more fairways. Drastically improved my iron game with getting fitted and buying Mizuno MP-18 mixed set. Can shape my shots and get very consistent distances, so I'm pretty excited for this year. Wedge game improved quite a bit too and now have rounded out the SM6 set completely. Also really excited as I've been rolling the new Taylormade TP Black Copper Juno nicely in the basement, and getting very consistent rolls and forgiveness. Never have really been excited about a putter, but the black copper is sexy, and it performs.
Looking to get on simulators a few times this winter, heated driving range a few times, a big golf show to attend, Taylormade demo fitting, and plently of swinging and putting in the garage and basement. Looking forward to early spring and am optimistic for my best golf yet.

Trying to not get overly excited for Jan golf trip and hoping that mother nature doesn't deposit her first snowstorm on us in New England around my departure date.
