miller1 30
Hello Mate's, I am from Michigan, USA and I am going to be traveling to Australia and New Zealand the 1st part of March for work. I would like to be able to get a round of golf in, I will be in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, then will be in Auckland, NZ. Can somebody recommend a nice decent priced course I could play? I would have to rent clubs also. I will be there for about 2 weeks. Thanks Sent from my SM-G965U using MyGolfSpy mobile app Edited January 9, 2019 by miller1 Spelling

There is an Aussie golf forum, a quick Google search will get you the link. I used it a couple of years ago and got great and immediate feedback - but we were playing in Tasmania which is south of Melbourne across the Bass Strait. If you do head that way King Island And Barnboodle are 2 highly regarded courses. I had no problem renting clubs for my wife and myself (and I'm a lefty). Good luck. Peaksy68 5,106
@miller1 How long do you have in each city? Do you have a run of days not working? Will you have a car? Melbourne has an abundance of good quality courses, access to most is pretty reasonable. The best value (and awesome quality courses) are found on the Mornington (1-1 1/2 hrs south of city centre) and Bellarine (1 1/4 -1 3/4 west of city) Peninsulas. Both have several high quality courses that have easy public access. Closer to town, there are lots of private clubs that you should be able to get on, access at the top end is more difficult (and more expensive). If you can get down to Mornington, look at St Andrews Beach (amazing course) and The Dunes. The Dunes has better facilities, and will certainly have hire clubs. On the Bellarine side, 13th Beach has 2 courses, both very good, Barwon Heads is a classic (more expensive and less accessible, very snobby) Curlewis (my club) is nearly as good as the others, very accessible and great value. I haven't played in Sydney or Adelaide, so I can't help much other than that there are some very good courses. Adelaide is likely to offer better value. March in Melbourne should offer great golfing weather, but we are renowned for having 4 seasons in a day, so be prepared. 19hole 15
In Sydney I think the "must plays" would be The Australian Club and New South Wales GC. It's difficult to get into both of these clubs. Unfortunately, I live in Perth on the other side of the country. I've got a friend in Sydney who recommends Twin Creeks GC (hosts the NSW Open, but is private club), and look at ISeekGolf for other recommendations, as well as the Australian golf Facebook forums. 1 Driver: Cobra F9 Speedback (9.0) with Fujikura Atmos 7X (Avalanche White) 3 Wood: Callaway Epic Sub-Zero (15 degrees) in Rogue Max 75g stiff shaft Hybrid: Callaway Apex 20 degree with Kurokage 80g Stiff Shaft Irons: Wilson Staff CB 4-PW in KBS 120 Stiff shafts Wedges: Titleist Vokey SM6 - 50 Callaway MD4 - 56 & 60 degrees Putter: Taylormade TP Collection Soto Golf Ball: Titliest Pro V1 and Srixon Z-Star
