$400 for a Fairway Wood?!?! Not here...

Recommended Posts

To heck with the new ones.  The look of that 5 wood alone is worth $400.  Whoa.

New clubs may perform better but they sure as hell aren't as beautiful. Great work!

Thanks Steddy but this going back on the course where it belongs. I restore everything to be playable.

A little better but I’ll give up a few yards to look down at a beautiful piece of persimmon.

I decided to stick a 5-wood in the bag for the upcoming season. Seeing the prices of the latest offerings I went out to the garage to see what I had.

Low and behold, my old Cleveland Classic TC15 I picked up about 20 years ago. Bagged it for a few years than decided to give those pesky hybrids a shot.

Well, time to go back in the bag. But it needs a bit of a tidying up.

From the pic of the sole, there appears to be some “bore-through” technology there!

Thanks. I have a bunch more in the queue for refinishing, I can pick one and do a step by step restoration thread.

How did you restore the face so well? That's a fantastic job

Strip, sand, clean grooves, stain, paint, clear.

I’ll do a step by step soon.
