I personally saw his disgraceful behaviour towards a young fan wanting his autograph at the Open at Turnberry. Leopards don't change their spots.

Watching live this morning and absolutely no mention of the first tour player to be DQ'd for serious misconduct on the EU tour since 1972!

The tour and social media went into meltdown when Simon Dyson was DQ'd for tapping down a spike mark in 2013!

I can't in any way condone his actions here. Being DQed is one thing, but there needs to be more serious punishment for this.

First off I wouldn't have played in the Saudi's stinking tournament.  Shove it. But a lot of players did. Shame on them!

But where's the video? I've searched around and nothing I could find. Come on. A player in tournaments can't nick a blade of grass without a camera on it. Shame on Sergio and everyone else that got paid to show up and play.

Welp, this is just confirmation that it is difficult to eliminate your anger problems. I had hoped that Sergio had grown beyond these issues. Hopefully he learns his lesson soon.

Personally, I could perhaps let the bunker work slide. Kind of funny actually. But damaging greens? Your DQ'd.  Can't wait to see the greens videos. Someone has them.

I believe damaging greens deserves banishment for a lengthy period of time.  I don't care if it's Sergio Garcia or "Joe Smith" at my home club.  A suspension is warranted and should be levied!  Maybe we could figure out some sort of "scarlet letter" type badge of dishonor for them to wear during the suspension period as well!

This says infinitely more about Sergio that it says about the golf course.  Regardless of where the golf course is located.

From what I've read, Sergio played early, before TV was rolling, so it would have to be a fan video, but the sarcastic posts from that thread say that there were no fans there.  Certain parties were not a fan of them playing this tournament in Saudi Arabia at all.

Just when I started to think maybe I could finally get behind Sergio and he goes and does this crap which is completely inexcusable. If the guy can't cope with a foot print in the bunker or whatever it was (and I agree it shouldn't be there) then it shows just how weak minded he is. No one wants to find their ball in a bunker that wasn't raked, but sometimes it happens. Just hit the shot and move on. What a cry baby!

Saw this and it was very disturbing that he thought that he could do that. I understand golf is a frustrating sport, and I myself will drop a couple swear words under my breath after hitting a bad shot. But damaging the course and acting like that is unacceptable.

That being said if the tour has made their decision to move on and he apologized to the players then we should just move on.

He’s almost 40 and married with a kid. He isn’t going to change.  Granted 1 green is too many to damage but in reality golfers at all level get angry and do stupid stuff. Sergio isn’t going to change who he is at this point

i like to see emotion on the course and if the tours tried to stop it gold would be extremely boring.

Well, he has a history of being hot headed. The worst tantrum I observed by a PGA player, in person, was Craig Stadler at Snoqulamie Ridge TPC. He hit his golf bag with a club, which tore the side open, and spilled a handful of balls onto the fairway. That pissed him off even more so he took another whack at it for good measure.  His caddie tied a towel around the bag to keep the guts from falling out!

I saw the video and thought it was completely unacceptable.  I've always been pretty ambivalent toward Sergio and probably will continue to be, but it makes me a little sad to see behavior like that.
