Sub70 golf

For anyone that got the 286 and the JB wedges, what are the most noticeable differences? Is one better suited for lower/higher lofts than the other? Better to mix and match vs. all the same?

I currently game the TM Milled Grind 2.0s, and I am trying to put together a second set of clubs to save space when traveling between seasons. When I decided to buy the milled grinds, I loved that they had a “responsive” face compared to the Vokeys, which were too soft for my liking. The Jaws wedges just felt like rocks and the Mizunos didn’t match my eye. It’s hard to beat the price of the Sub70s, and I love brand and all the customization options they offer.

I have both, I like both. From my usage and experience with them, the 286 is a little better suited for full swing shots. The grind on it doesn't let it open up very well. Which is why I have it on my 52°. The JB allows for a little more creative use and it sits much flatter when opened up.

But taking them both at full swing, me personally, I don't notice a huge difference(or even a small one really). I think that if you like to open the face, the JB is the way to go, as that is the area that I do notice a difference. I have full confidence in both anytime I pull them out.

Hope that helps answer your question.

That absolutely answers my question. I think it solidifies my thoughts that the 286 is the move for a gap, and then do the JB for the sand and lob.

thanks!

We could have submitted them but both the 939X and Pro models have been tested already.  We didn't want to resubmit the same products and sacrifice inventory that could get out to a customer instead.  The Pro model was named Best Value https://mygolfspy.com/2019-most-wanted-fairway-wood/  If we had a new model available we would have submitted it...I'm sure our new fairways will be in the 2022 testing.

Just picked up the 669 Pro Utlility last week and played on Saturday on a tight tree lined course.  Boy is that thing awesome! Easy distance with control, on the short par fours and dog legs I was able to take a smooth swing and get 220-240 straight down the middle every time! This is the utility iron I've been looking for! I might need to pick up a 4 iron one to match and ditch the hybrids all together!

Received my shiny brand new 699 pro's 3-AW, KBS tour shafts, stock Lamkin grips exactly when they said they would arrive. I choose these over T200's.

Played my first round on an executive course. Score doesn't show as operator error still comes into play, but I hit them pretty good. I need to get used to the distances which I didn't think would be different from my old set. Not sure if it s me or if I'm just used to them yet but I may have lost a half a club to a club on distance. I'll know more after a few more rounds.

They look awesome and feel great, looking forward to many enjoyable rounds.

For me if it’s only a 5 or 10 yard difference in distance isn't a big deal. My dispersion seems to be better, there’s a bigger sweet spot IMO unless I hit it way inside near the hosel which I’ve done at the range. To me
it’s worth saving $400 or more depending on brand. The T 200’s were roughly $1600.

ya my pxgs came in at 1,100 after shaft upgrade and fitting fee. was $39 for KBS shafts and plus price of grips from fitter. Could have saved a great deal. Alas, i have the sticks i have now and unless i can get 80% back (which likely ain't happening). Only thing i could think, if i ever get my handicap below 10, i then might treat myself to the CBs

I ran across Sub70 golf a couple years ago when I was in the market for a new stand bag. Looked at many different brands including Sub70 and compared them all from features to price. Sub70 had comparable features to other name brand golf bags, but Sub70 price was much cheaper than those name brands for a stand bag. I bought the Sub70 and was not disappointed.

Just recently I was looking to replace my worn out Vokey wedges. Looked at the Vokey's again ,but also looked at Sub70 wedges. Read up on both brands newest wedges and chose the Sub70 52 and 56 degree wedges based on comparable features and lower price compared to Vokey. Have now played several rounds with them and I am not disappointed by my choice. They are every bit as good as my Vokey wedges performance wise and I saved money as well.

You should let me love those D7Fs when you move on. Ironically I was just looking at a set of used JGR H2s locally!

I've still got my D7F's in the bag, but I do have a couple 699 Pros and some 639 CB's that I made a spilt set out of as my spare set. The biggest difference for me, is really probably the shafts. Having Recoils in the D7F's makes them smoother than the Sub70s with modus 105's. But I could easily game either.

I'd definitely have mine shafted with the same Catalysts I have in the D7F's.

In the bag:
