Not sure if this necessarily tracks in shiny metal forum, but as far as recent sub70 purchases, I just picked up the new 949x fairway wood and it is perhaps one of the best 3 woods I've ever hit right out of the bag...no warm up to test and hit 5/5 fairways with it. Honestly feels like it wants to go only straight. I was always in the category of why hit 3 wood when it's not that much straighter than my driver anyways; but this one feels like it actually fits the mold of fairway finder. Haven't had extensive use off the deck yet to grade it in that aspect.

It's also far better looking than the website and feels spectacular; hearkens back to some of the callaway xhot fairways in terms of sound and feel: very much that muted "wood" like feel and "thwack" sound, alternative to tinnier metal on the other side of the spectrum.

Also doesn't hurt when, after an upcharge shaft, it's still 50$ cheaper than the big guys.

Why did you get 6.0? Don’t you normally play a softer shaft than that? I am interested I’ll let you know.

how is this off the deck?

I've only had a few of chances to try it out off the deck in round, but for me it's been extremely easy to elevate while not spinning like crazy. It almost feels like I can take the same swing as off the tee and it performs exactly the same.

Also worth noting that I've kept the weights in the head standard (9g in back and 9g in heel position) ; they provide an additional 6g and 12g weight so there should be room to adjust to make it easier to get up off the deck.

So.....I had been reading all of the Sub 70 info and it got my interest. I talked with Jason Hiland and he made recommendations based off of my very recent (like two days earlier) dynamic Ping fitting. Those fitting numbers let Jason advise me on what would work best from the Sub 70 lineup....and it saved me an 8 hour drive from having to physically go to Sub 70's headquarters for a fitting. Jason connected me with Cody Varga and we were off to the races. I worked with Cody over the course of a few weeks, going through the demo process, getting everything down to an order....then I just had to sell some of my own clubs to help offset the cost. Once I sold my clubs....I placed my order. The beautiful Sub 70 box showed up yesterday. Oh my....was my first thought. They were gorgeous...until I took the plastic off of the club heads and realized that the heads were the satin finish...and not the black finish that I had planned on, all along. I went back and looked through my email traffic with Cody and discovered that...early on...I did state that I wanted the black heads. But...that was in an email weeks ago. In my final email...with my order specs...I had neglected to specify the black finish on the heads. I emailed Cody and was fully transparent, acknowledging that the mistake was on my end, but would there be any way to send the clubs back and have the black heads installed. Cody immediately responded and actually said that it was his fault for not confirming the finish and that he would send me a return shipping label and correct the error. THE ERROR WAS NOT CODY'S FAULT...IT WAS SQUARELY ON MY SHOULDERS. So...I will have to wait a few more weeks before hitting my clubs...but that is my only penance for my lack of attention to detail. I am now a Sub 70 fanboy for life. Their customer service is top notch. Thank you Cody and Jason for all that you do.

Customer service is a HUGE deal especially these days and times we are in. If restaurant's had a 1/3 of the customer service Sub70 has, there servers, cooks & employee's would make 20 times more in tips. Customer service goes a very long way with me.

My wife has Sub70 7 & 5 949x woods. She loves them so much she wants a set of their irons. We will be going to Sycamore for a fitting to find her a new set of clubs sometime this fall. Don't tell my wife, but I am going to get a driver as well,, HEHHEHE.

Not sure if you can blame it on the clubs, holed out A wedge from 100 yards for my first eagle and hit PW to 3 feet from 115 for kick in birdie. Played the 3 par 5 is 3 under a first for me. Siub70 699 Pro's in black. I had stopped playing my Ping G400 6 iron and replaced it with a Mavrik 6 hybrid, now hitting the 699 Pro 6 iron more consistently and longer.

I talked to a friend who is retired from the business, and it's obvious he hasn't kept up with the latest equipment comings and going.  When I asked him if he had heard of Sub70, he began by sayng he's only played one set of Knock off irons before and they were a set he build 🤦‍♂️

After giving him the evil eye for a few moments, I tired to educate him on the story of the brand, but not sure it took.

All this said, as it kind of reinforced the article that was in Forbes last week on MGS's influence on smaller comapnies.   And the struggle they have competign against the big 5 with their marketing budgets.

Just want to say to Jason and the crew...keep doing what you're doing!  It's been a great success so far, and I know more to come!.  All we can do is try and educate one person at a time...ok maybe more than one 🙂

Awesome!  Thanks for signing up.  Yeah we'll either have the full fitting cart setup or at the very least a bunch of demos and different options for people to hit beforehand.  I'm sure we'll have the 659s there for everybody.

Wish I could make it. Just to much travel this summer already and can't squeeze in one more. My wife and I will be up this fall for her to get fit into some Sub70 clubs.

Plan one for next year. I'll be up in June and maybe can work around another one of your outings.

First round not too bad. I’m intrigued by the upcoming iron fitting I’m going to do to see what shaft I should use

I am not close to them or a fitting cart, couple thousand miles away. I went to two different fitters, decided on a shaft. After getting the clubs I was worried I was launching the ball two high. I was lucky enough to be able to go to their location in ILL for a fitting. Kevin was my fitting and his recommendation was to stay with what I have. My confidence was much higher after that and I love my clubs. Can't blame the clubs for poor swings.  But my poor swings are less and less with the 699 Pro's. Dispersion is tighter and consistency is getting better.  You are going to love them.

I’m doing a Titleist fitting I’m a few thousand miles from Sub70 as well. I’m just curious as to what the shaft I chose compares to what I get fitted for. I’m a better golfer than my last iron fitting

One of the fitters I went to for the shaft used Titleist T200 irons. To be honest it was a tough  choice between the T200's and the 699 Pro's. I am happy with the decision I made. The T200 and 699 Pro's launch the same for me.

Got fit at Club Champ today for Srixon ZX7 with KBS C Taper…$2k….came home and bought 659 CBs with same shaft for $950….can’t wait to see them in action and hope they live up to hype.  Would have bought 949 Pro driver as well but was out of stock so went with the Cobra LTDx they fit me with at Club Champ.
