Placed an order with Sub 70 on Friday … and I may place another with them this week.

And my goodness, how I really hope this will cure my severe case of GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) of the past 2 years.

LOL!

Went with 659 CB/TC combo ... 5i/6i in CB and 7i thru PW with TC.

Have enjoyed the G425s and I'm hitting the ball further than I ever have, but the soles are just too thick and with too much bounce. And I have it in my head that they're leading me to sweeping the ball as opposed to compressing it.

I have a shallow angle of attack, from a +1 to a -2 AofA with my 8i, and I'm more of a picker. Hoping the v-sole and lower bounce with the 659s will lead to more consistent contact.

Shameless marketing but if anyone lives in the Chicago area and wants to come out for a good day of golf, food, drinks, prizes, giveaways, etc., we are having an outing at Prairie Landing on 8/5. More info can be found at https://www.golfsub70.com/sub-70-golf-outing.html

Welp, I am so deeply disappointed in myself for missing this post! I'm only a few minutes from Prairie Landing and definitely would have attended if not for my own stupidity 😂. Is there anywhere I can sign up for emails about future Sub 70 outings?

No. You had ONE CHANCE, and now you're blacklisted.  Sorry man. Everyone's talking about it. You. Are. Done.

I have a set of GI (Sim Max version 1), and have been curious about going to something a bit more "grown-up", as well - love the looks of the 201s from Takomo (though realistically looking at the 101Ts), and/or the 659s (and/or the 699 Pros).  Let me know how you like them, if you feel like there's enough forgiveness.  My game's vastly improved from when I was fitted for the Sims, so have been entertaining the idea of not only "new and shiny", but maybe more suited to actually getting better (I'm a 12.4 currently, for reference, and more consistency would be a huge help - but I also want to make sure I'm not sacrificing forgiveness, either).

Curious how the suit you!

While my handicap is a 12 as well, each person's game in that same handicap range can be vastly different.

My iron and short game are my strong points ... with my driver/tee game (while better as of late) can be wildly inconsistent, but it's my mental game (and tbh, poor attitude) that is complete shambles. I've had rounds with 6 to 7 pars, along with too many doubles & triples on the card to put me in the high 90s. At the same time, I've shot 79 twice in the past 4 years, each with a different set of irons.

I worked in the golf industry for many years, went thru the PGM program, but got out of the golf industry in '06 - switched to finance and been there ever since. When I was more serious about golf, I played Mizuno T-Zoids, to Titleist 962bs, to TM Rac TPs and really loved my Snake Eyes 600b/c combo during my serious 70-80 golfing days. But a move to Chicago in '09 till '15, and my game took a nose dive.

But enough with the novel on my part! LOL Def excited to get the clubs, share my experiences and as a someone who considers himself a Chicagoan (Wrigleyville & Lincoln Square were home), I'm happy to support a greater Chicago based company.

One last item I'll add is that I do coach a boys & girls golf team for a local h/s ... so I'm at the range and course a lot with the kids, and blessed with a good work/life balance that I'm able to get quite a bit of range practice in as well.

I bought a couple of hybrids right after the MGS Hybrid results came out.  They are very nice!  The acoustics are OK if you hit it in the center.  Off-center hits sound terrible.  The faces seem quite hot.    I like the weight, the feel and the look.

They are not cheap.  So, you'll save a little bit.  Mine, the 949x were 205 per club including a non-stock shaft and grip.  They seem to take a little too long to ship, but these days, that's expected.  I put

I put them into play immediately and am quite happy with the purchase.

I have been happy with all my Sub 70 purchases. I went in last week and was fitted for a new hybrid and fairway wood. The 2 week period falls right on my 60th birthday. I really liked the Seventy where they do fittings now. I could spend all day there.

I live in Chicago and actually went to the facility last September for a fitting. The black, blades for a 5-SW including an AW were less than $700. I was fitted by Jason on a launch monitor and got my set in less than two weeks. I have a coworker who loves their fairway woods and my best friend has three of their putters.  I have one of their mallet putters and love it. Jason is one of the owners and they have 3-4 golf related companies under the same roof and the facility serves as their manufacturing as well as their warehouse for sold equipment. I loved the personal touch and fitting and plan to also order a second putter soon. You won't be disappointed...

My old Ping G410 Plus driver was getting 'tired', so I ordered a Sub 70 849D driver with the loft, shaft, and grip of my choice. It's great. And the customer follow-up/support is superb!

Later, I added Sub 70 wedges (sand-54 and lob-60) to my stable and these are really good too. Excellent spin. Terrific feel.

I can hardly wait until my Mizuno irons get old so that I can compare the Sub 70 irons to those from the big manufacturers...

Sub-70, Callaway, Mizuno, and Yes! Trying to shoot my age occasionlly.

I personally game the 699 pro irons and I must say they are every bit as good as the major brands. I was fitted over the winter into a set of Mizuno's and was on the fence of dropping that kind of money. I stumbled across sub 70 and loved the look and price, so I just placed an order. Recieved the irons the following week, but in the wrong specs... Called and talked with Jason and had new one's built and shipped in less then a week. Between the performance and customer service, it was a great experience. I plan on a wedge set for next year.

I can't speak to the irons, but I've had the 949x hybrids for two weeks and they are by far the best hybrids I have had in my bag.  They look great, have multiple weight options and fly straight as an arrow.  I bought the 3 and 6 hybrids and both are money.  Finally, the customer service is outstanding, personable and fast.

Don't hesitate with respect to the irons...they are legit. I have zero regrets about my irons/wedge. Likely going to grab a utility soon. I am less sold on my hybrid for me. We have a Jekyl-Hyde thing going.

Just got my shipping notice for the 659 CBs, hope to get them this week and test them out soon.  Have my trackman data saved from fitting at Club Champ so will be able to direct compare to Srixon and Apex Pros on same shaft KBS C Taper 120, keep you all posted.  Really hope I like them so I don't have to spend another few hundred at least on Callaway Pre-Owned or even more on the Srixons.

Went back and forth between PXG’s Bat Attack and Sub 70’s 002 for a good 2 weeks of researching … went with the 002. And very nearly went with the Bat Attack. One of the golfers on the boys team has one and it’s really nice.

Both had custom fitting options, but you simply can’t beat $180 out the door for a CNC milled putter from a solid billet of 1045.

Ordered at 37” with +2° upright lie and +1° loft added with SS grip. Crazy.

Bought a 5 wood and 3 hybrid for my wife.  She decided I shout send them back and she would keep he 10 year old warrior golf clubs.  They kept their word and gave a full refund.  However, Sub 70 is really a golf club clone assembler (Diamond Tour Golf  https://www.diamondtour.com › golf-components.) , who has their own heads made for them somewhere.  I have decided that buying last years clubs of amazon or hurricane golf to be a much better choice for the budget minded.  BTW I play cobras which are always on sale for  1/2 price when they are one year old.  I have found this company to be reputable but not a name brand club.  Just like Snell golf balls I am sure they have a few fans.

Diamond Tour and Sub 70 are under the same umbrella but they operate differently. Sub 70 is not a "clone assembler"...although that sounds like a slightly terrifying but interesting future job.
