Love the look. I was a little disappointed to discover there was no tungsten in the toe of them, however. I believe they will have a .355 taper tip option, however, so that's a huge plus. Going to be hard to want to move on from my 699 Pros. They put up incredible ball speed and distance even on mishits. 5 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 6.2 / Anti-Cap: 11.7 (Last Updated June 26, 2022) Driver: Callaway Epic Max LS (9°), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Club Champion Fitting 17° Hybrid: Callaway Super Hybrid, 41.5", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 21° Hybrid: Callaway Epic Flash, 40", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", UST Mamiya Recoil 110 F5 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. When I'm on with it its great, when I'm off its useless. It's kind of a love hate thing I've had with hybrids. I like the look of/feel more comfortable standing over an iron and am mulling the idea of swapping the hybrid out for a driving iron. I'm reasonably sure I'm going to love it off the tee, but I'm unsure of how it's going to perform off the deck in the fairway and light rough. I need it to fill a gap between my 4 iron and 3 wood. If it's only good off the tee that's not going to work for me. Any experience? I've got a 699 Pro 3U. I really like it off the tee, it has a nice low piercing flight. Off the deck it works quite well. It feels just like a long iron and has more or less the same characteristics you'd expect. A good hit can carry 220-230, but mishits aren't super forgiving. My miss with it is typically a toe-ish block which really kills the distance. So when I can't hit it.... I really can't hit it. That being said, I've enjoyed having it in the bag and expect to grow into it a bit more. 4 Quote Driver: Ping 425LST 9* (Aldila Rouge White 130) 3 Wood: Sub70 Pro (13) (HZRDS Black 60) 3U: Sub70 (19.5) (True Temper Project X U) Irons: Sub70 699 Pro (5-Gap) (Dynamic Gold S300) Wedges: Vokey SM8 54 and 58 (10S) (Project X) Putter: Some old green Nike Blade

Syks7 1,071
I just have to hop on again and echo how superb Sub 70's service is. I ordered Wednesday afternoon (west coast time zone) which I'm guessing hit them right around closing. I sent an email asking for it to be built at D5. Got an email back before the end of the day from them confirming and noting that they'll build it to that weight. Got another email in the morning the next day confirming the build. Received shipping confirmation this morning. Elapsed time is just under 48 hours. It wasn't exactly a huge order, but it was custom. For it to be run this well speaks very highly of how the company is managed. I'm happy to be ordering from the source this time, and am looking forward to putting the driving iron in play next week. I have a links style course out here that I think it's going to be lights out on -- especially if its as windy as its been. 7 Quote Driver: 2016 M2 -- Fujikara ventus red 3 Wood RBZ Stage 2 - Diamana Blue Board 2 Hybrid RBZ Stage 2 -- True Temper Elevate Tour (shares duty with 3I depending on the day) 699pro - 3I Driving Iron KBS Tour (shares duty with the 2 hybrid depending on the day) 699pro - 4I, 5I - 639CB 6/PW -- True Temper Elevate Elevate Tour RSI2 -- 4/PW- Nippon Modus 115 (Testing) Cleveland CBX2 48° & 54°-- TT Elevate Tour Hi Toe 58° -- TT Elevate Tour Innovai 6.0 CTR Ball: Zstar XV Divide

Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut 8,221
For anyone that has the black version of any of the iron models and is slightly OCD like myself I found a decent fix. I have a Sub-70 56 degree JB wedge in black. After a few weeks with sand shots the scratches were getting to me. After some tries to cover the scratches up that failed like using a black sharpie and others I got to thinking. I have gun blue from when I refinished a rifle a few years ago. What did I have to lose! I couldn't take it. I Applied it , waited a minute, wiped it and rinsed it and the wedge looks 90 percent better. I think with a second application it will look fantastic. I wish I would have taken before pictures. But excitement got in the way. 13 Quote Driver, TSi1 10* Stiff Flex 3 Wood, SLDR HL 17* R Flex 5 Wood, SLDR 19* R Flex 7 Wood, F6 22.5* R Flex 939x 5 hybrid Irons, 699 Pro's S Flex (6 - AW) JB Wedge 56* Wedge, CBX 60* Putter, Marksman Fang 35"

JFish350 651
I have the 699 Pro's and love them, I've mentioned I wasn't sure I had the correct shafts. I had the chance to visit the facility in Sycamore and couldn't more happy that I did. Kevin was our (my wife and I) fitter/ pro for the day. He was so accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful that I was ready to move to Sycamore Ill. Not only did he check my clubs, watch my swing and not laugh out loud, he also reassured me I had what's need in equipment with a slight 1* down bend and gave me a few swing tips. He then helped my wife with a 3 wood I bought for her. We ended up with a 5 & 7 wood for her and helped her with her swing as well. If someone from Sub 70 reads this, please give my thanks to Kevin for a great afternoon and also the suggestion of PJ's for lunch. Fish and chips were awesome. Thank you everyone at Sub 70. 9 Quote Epic GBB driver 10.5 turned down to 9.5 Hzruds 6.5 smoke shaft. Titleist U15 1 iron Sub 70 699 Pro 4-AW Sub 70 3 utility 19* Callaway 56 and 58 wedge. BadgerRick 0
I see on the website that the irons are forged DT-4 steel. I've never seen that used before in a golf head. Is that more like stainless steel or carbon steel?

hawkdriver 38
I have become intrigued with Sub 70. I'm nothing great...normally in the 80s. Despite the fact that am not a "playa'"....I absolutely despise a thick topline. I saw the 699 and the 699 Pro Black irons and started getting the itch. I sent an email to customer service...explaining my poor game/swing statistics/tendencies and asked if the 699 or 699 Pro would be "too much" for me. Less than an hour later, the owner...Jason Hiland...called me direct. Jason said that absolutely either one of those sets should work for my swing. About 30 minutes later I receive a call and an email from Cody Varga and I am getting hooked up with the demos of the 699...the 699 Pro...and the 699 Pro U. Wow! Never experienced customer service like this. I hope the demos work for me because...if they do...I will be ordering a complete set and supporting Sub 70 forever. 9 Quote Driver - Ping G425 SFT 3 Wood - Callaway XR 5 Wood - Ping G410 7 Wood - Ping G-425 4 iron - Sub 70 699 Pro U 24* 6-AW - Sub 70 699 Pro SW - Ping Zing 2 BeCu 54.5* LW - Ping Eye 2 BeCu 58* Putter - PXG Bat Attack

I'm not a "playa" either but felt the same with a must have of a thin top line. I demoed the 639CBs last fall, and asked Cody about why the TAIII demos only came in a stiff shaft. He sent out the demo set of the TAIII irons and I immediately fell in love with those clubs after hitting them. I had an in person fitting with Jason and he said why do you want the TAIII , he then had me hit them and said that with the regular shaft TT105 dynamic gold I should be good. I've been using them all winter on a golf simulator league here in west suburbs of Chicago with really good consistent results. JFish350 651
Not sure if this is the right spot, feel free to move if I’m posting in the wrong thread. this is about the 5 & 7 fairway woods I bought for my wife. We were plying in AZ this last week and she wanted me to let the awesome folks at Sub70 know she loves them. She is hitting her 5 wood almost as fair and more accurate that her driver. She absolutely loves the 7 wood. It’s her go to club rather than her 6H or 4H. I can’t thank the Sub70 people enough as my wife is loving golf more and more which makes it easier for me to get out and play as well. Selfish I know, but happy wife more golf. 7 1 Quote Epic GBB driver 10.5 turned down to 9.5 Hzruds 6.5 smoke shaft.
