Sub70 golf

Today I got some irons and wedges in from Sub70. I got 3,4,5 &6 in the 639CB and 50*, 54* & 60* in the black wedges. These all came with KBS Tour 120 S (hardstep) shafts and Golf Pride MCC Plus 4 grips. I’ll get to hit these next week.







More to come as we round out the bag by the spring!

I'll send my Yuma, AZ shipping address so they can get some play time in while you all are shoveling snow .  The black finish looks pretty nice,  I'll be interested to hear how well they hold up.

The driver is already on the conforming list. Everything else should be following here in a few weeks from what I’m told.

Just checked out the website. Those 699's look amazing! I was floored when I seen the price. Really looking forward to following along and reading my fellow spy's thought. Those wedges look clean too!

First hit on each, 50,54,58...

multiple hits on one of them,  last pic that’s not grass stain, it’s yellow ball blood  

i think they’re about 10 yards shorter thank the Vokeys, but shaft has gone from a stiff + to a regular. No track man numbers, but I would guess the spin on these are all in the 10k range. I think these will be beach blanket clubs. And so soft with these shafts too. They’ll be tearing the balls up for a while I think. Serious sharp. Hope to get up to the practice green tomorrow for some spin testing.

I wish they’d redo the pics online. They don’t give the real image of how they would look at address. They’re at an odd angle, and even look like the shaft is leaning forward. The only real way to see amounts of offset is to have the shaft vertical.
Oh well. It would be cool to try them vs others in a fitting to get a sense head-to-head.

Everything is being submitted...just a matter of the USGA getting around to testing and approving

Pictures can be tough to get right...they can always be deceiving in one way or another.  The specifications section for each model states the exact offset amount.

So my softer shafts in my wedges seemed to throw the ball a bit higher, and the massive spin might be in the mix somewhere too, not sure, but they’re a bit shorter than the Vokeys.

So I took them into my local shop up in T.Oaks (Bogey Bobs) to get them bent a little bit a little stronger, to get a little better gapping with my p790’s.

when bob started to bend the first one he turned to me and said they feel good as he bent them. He said they feel like Miura, or mizuno, or Fourteen. He said he’s bent so many clubs in his life that he knows what good steel feels like when bending it. I’ve never once bent one myself, and I don’t know the validity of a statement like that, but he was intrigued with the clubs.
