crankky 6
Greetings from the Bluegrass State, where there are more barrels of bourbon than there are people! I'm happy to finally register at MGS after years of lurking and reading. I'm a former FGIer if anyone remembers that forum from years past. Learned a lot about golf and clubmaking there and as a result, for many years my entire bag was self-built clubs. Lots of SMT drivers (still in the garage), Wishon putters, and still in the bag, my Snake Eyes 675XC irons. Lack of time and interest in clubbuilding has seen that drop off and my bag is slowly becoming OEM (except for the irons, so far). cg3putt 3
Been playing for 21 years. Started playing when I was 51 , 72 now. My handicap is a roller coaster with the lowest being 14.7 last year, and now 16.7. More rounds per week the better the number. Have hit 20 last fall trying to make a senior swing change. Would be hard to live now without golfs many facets , satisfaction , embarrassment, challenges, competition, friendships, rivalries , and never ending journey trying to get to master what can’t be mastered. Trying to walk 18 three times a week, and hit the range/ short game as part of my work out routine is a bonus while enjoying the outdoors. Have followed MyGolfSpy for some time but never really got involved. Always informative and enjoyable, while trying to master what can’t be mastered. Trust the crew. I live in the panhandle of Florida in a small town called Freeport., 15 miles from Destin. My home course is Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club. I have no golf complaints. SRG&BC Will close 2021 for complete course redesign and renovation. A little anxious, but a lot of local courses to use but not home. Camp Creek , Kelly Plantation, Elgin, Rocky Bayou, etc,. Retired , 10 yrs. Was a plumbing contractor in Miami. At the time of my name selection one of the most frustrating things about my golf was how many three putts I was having per round. I hate 3 putts , should never happen.
Hoganman1 154
Hello Fellow Spies. I'm not new to the site, but this the first time I've posted to this thread. I usually go to other threads to read and comment. I've been playing for 55 years. I didn't really take it seriously until around 1975 when I was in my mid 20s. I live in Charlotte and play at Myers Park Club. I joined there in 1983. My current index is 8.9 thanks to some recent good rounds. I usually fluctuate between 9 and 12 from Summer to Winter. I truly love the game and play two or three times a week year round. I've been retired for five years. Golf is my main hobby along with gardening, reading and movies. I realize at age 70, I'm playing the back nine of life. Hopefully, I can keep going as long as this old body will let me. I moved up a set of tees to 6250 yards when I turned 65. Most of the guys in my regular group are fairly healthy too. We all know moving up to 6000 yards is coming in a few years. Thanks for reading my story (if you did). I look forward to reading all your posts in the future. PS I forgot to mention that I'm a recovering club nut. I'm try to not buy anything but balls and gloves for the rest of the year. 8 Quote Drive for Show; Putt for Dough

Hadi05 22
How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I started playing golf about 20 years ago. Got injured 5 years ago and started picking up the sticks again about 1.5 years ago or so. I usually shoot low to mid 80s depending on the course now. What do you love about golf? I enjoy spending time with my son who enjoys golf. I enjoy being able to put technology aside for 4 hours and just look at the beauty of what's in front of me. I enjoy the friendships that are developed on the golf course which are then taken off the course. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? tsjonasson 4
Hello from Daytona Beach. Been a reader for years, just never joined the forum. Been playing since high school, but formerly residing in MA I didn't play all that much. Been playing regularly for 6 months now, brought my cap down from 15 to 9 so far. A stroke per month now that I think of it and that's A-OK with me.
