Restarting golf and essentially starting a new phase in life. I have not played in nearly a dozen years. I gave away every piece of equipment I had and forgot about golf. I watched RickSheils on youtube about 3 months ago and slowly realized how much I missed playing. So starting a golf journey on a strict budget and let’s where we go! 
 

         How long have you been playing golf?  Off and on 5 yrs

         What’s your handicap or normal score? Probably 15 hcp usually Mid to low 80’s        
     
         What do you love about golf? Everything but the sunburn  
         
         What brings you to MyGolfSpy? I heard about it on I think MrShortGame’s channel maybe but it was on youtube. 
 

         Do you already know any other Spies?  No

         Where are you from? What is your home course? Sulphur La   Frasch GC

        What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Warm Winters , Hot Humid Horrible Summers

        What do you do for a living? Work for an area Casino

         How’d you pick your user name? My nickname from a Friend

5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Too early in my time here to make that call.

6. What do you do for a living? Retired from US Submarine Service in 1990.  Worked as Financial Advisor and stock broker post military, but retired fully now.

Played a couple of the courses in the Village YEARS ago! So nice!!!

Started playing again in my mid 20’s but career got in the way. 37 now and really started playing until 2 months ago, our first child was born. Hopefully when he grows up a little I’ll have time to play more consistently and finally get my handicap below 10.

2. What do you love about golf? Love being outdoors and seeing the way courses are maintained. It’s also been a way to do something with my brothers and mother to help us do something outside and athletic.

5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best part is that it’s rarely too cold to not play. Worst part is summer, especially this year, can be unbearable and make it really hard to enjoy a round.

1. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I’ve had clubs since I was 10, but never seriously played. I gave up the game when I was 35. I just had my second kid and couldn’t justify spending time on the course while my wife was home with the kids. Also, I had unreasonable expectations about how I should play and didn’t really have anyone to play with. I recently came back to golf. My 9 year old has been involved in First Tee and he said he wanted me to play with him, so I bought some used irons and have been working my way back.

2. What do you love about golf? The mental challenge of dealing with adversity and spending time with my son on the course.

3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? The best information.

4. Where are you from? What is your home course? Aledo, Texas. I’ve only played two rounds since my return, so I don’t know that I have a home course. Yet.

5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? The climate. It is possible to play year round. But, it’s hot as hell in the summer and in year like this year (2022), with little rain, the course is less than pristine shape.

6. What do you do for a living? Lawyer representing one of the largest counties in Texas in civil litigation.

My name is robert Alessi, I currently live in the New Orleans LA area but moved from NYC. 
I must admit I miss elevations and undulations but with that said I’ve enjoyed the lengthy seasons here in the south and the low cost of play and practice. 
I believe the best deal around is Bayou Oaks with their 2 courses and unlimited range for 200 a month. The north is really nothing great but the South is an immaculately kept, slightly challenging but long course.

   New to the community, would like to test things to get better. Really don't know my distances due to inconsistencies.
