I reside in central California in the valley. Live two blocks from where I grew up. Play all over California, mother in-law lives in inland empire so make it down there a couple times a year. I’m currently at an 11.2 index but looking always to get better.

I enjoy getting outside for the sunshine and fresh air. I love competing against myself and seeing the improvements.

Been getting more into golf the last six months, way past just a casual hobby now.

Where are you from? What is your home course?

I’m from Draper, UT, a suburb of Salt Lake City, about 15 miles south of SLC. My home course is South Mountain Golf Course.

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?

The best thing is the views of the mountains from just about any golf course in the area. The worst thing is winters. We get a lot of snow so if I want to play a course in winter I have to drive at least four hours south to get out of the snow.

What do you do for a living?

I work in customer support.

How’d you pick your user name?

Golf fan, just obsessed with it. If I’m not playing on the weekends then I’m watching it on tv, or hitting in my indoor golf simulator.

1. How long have you been playing golf? First time was in high school, I got more into it in my 20's so about 15ish years. What’s your handicap or normal score? I'm normally a mid 80's guy, my best round was 78, and my worst round was high enough to stop counting lol

2. What do you love about golf? The ball never lies! You hit it true or you don't, it's pretty much that simple. I also really love just being outside and challenging myself to do/be better.  

3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?  My wife tells me that I have a bit of an addictive personality, so when I get into something I tend to obsess.  Golf has been one of my obsessions over the years and I found that reading MyGolfSpy is a great avenue for me to channel my obsession by learning from others to improve my game. Also it has helped me better choose my equipment for me instead of jumping at every trend because it's the cool new thing. 

4. Where are you from? What is your home course? I live in Hidden Valley CA just off of the course that runs through my neighborhood.  I am happy to play anywhere though!

5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? I love that there is no shortage of golf courses and green grass.  I have lived in other states where you can be in the middle and still wind up on a dirt patch which is pretty frustrating.  With all the green grass we do have to deal with the rain, so there is always two sides to a coin.  

6. What do you do for a living? I'm a former firefighter, and now I am an estimator for an electrical contractor.

7.  How’d you pick your user name?  It is the first half of my first name and last half of my last name...

1. How long have you been playing golf? Have "played" 30-ish years. Have "tried" to get better for 8 years. Have been actively dedicated (focused take lessons practice a few times a week) since end of Dec 2018. 
   What’s your handicap or normal score? Handicap says 17 but that's padded by a few <90 rounds in Oct/Nov that may have had a mulligan or two included. I shoot between 90 and 105 on a regular basis. But I'm working on it!

2. What do you love about golf? It's my way to get away from the stress of work, responsibility of being a husband and dad. It's also one of a very few sports where you (nearly) completely control your outcome. I love that I own my score (well, not when I post 105, but you know).

3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I don't know any other spies. I was drawn here by their product reviews and info.

4. Where are you from? What is your home course? I live in a suburb of LA near Angeles National Forest. I haven't fully adopted a home course yet. Where I play depends on who I play with. The courses at Griffith Park are great. I have played San Dimas a couple times this year and like it. Goose Creek in the IE is a really nice value (for SoCal). 

5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Worst is EASY - it is CROWDED and SLOW!!!! If I play in 5 hours I'm happy. BEST - - Year Round weather comfortable golf! Second Best - I think there are 100 golf courses within an hour of my house. If you expand it to 2 hours, the number probably gets to 500. I can play a par 3 for $10 or I can pay $100+ for some luxury courses. And there are a LOT of options in between. 

6. What do you do for a living? I work in food safety for fresh cut produce. If you have questions about romaine lettuce from the 2018 I have more information than you really want.

7. How’d you pick your user name? I have been shouting "Fore Right" for 30 years. Seemed natural.

   16 years, but I only go out once or twice a summer.

2. What do you love about golf?
   I love golf carts, and have built many custom ones. I figure it's time to start taking this sport more seriously so I can go out with my buddies rather than just building their carts.

   Winter here SUCKS!

Playing in Vegas is varied as we have the wind in the spring, heat in the summer, and cold in the winter. Gotta adapt the game for the conditions. If you wait for perfect conditions, you’ll only play 3 times a year

I'm planning on retiring in Henderson NV in 2023 so I look forward to playing a lot of those courses!

1. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I have been “playing golf” since I was 16 so for 13 years, but just started really playing and trying to get good for the last 2 years. Two years ago I was a 20 Handicap and have cut it down a lot in two years. I’m currently a 8 and hoping to continue to get better. I average in the mid 70’s.

2. What do you love about golf?  I love that golf always wins. Meaning no one can go out day after day and shot after shot and be perfect. It keeps you coming back as the challenge never ends. I also love being outdoors and walking the course. I enjoy the exercise and love to take in the views as I go through the course.

3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I’ve fallowed MGS for a while and watch the tests on YouTube as I find the product reviews to be extremely helpful on decision making with all my golf gear.

4. Where are you from? What is your home course?  I am from/live in Utah and my course would be  soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway UT.

5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?  The best thing would be the abundance of public courses at an average of $28 to play 18 holes (walking). The worst thing is with low costs comes slow play with soooo many people on the course.

6.  What do you do for a living? For the last 4 Years I have sold cars but just recently went back to framing homes.

7.  How’d you pick your user name? It was my nick name from my cousin who has been a best friend to me my whole life. Spencer Jack Is my first and middle names so spence ma J is what he always called me.

   1. The best thing is definitely the scenery and the fact that I can play year-round.  I would say the worst thing about golf here is the lack of a golf support community.  There is a very solid community/support system for kids and that is amazing - I would love to see it happening for adults as well

   1. I am Director of Revenue Management for a hotel chain (simplified: I optimize business level while managing risks to make the most money possible for the hotel)

I love being outside and inspecting the landscape.  The pace of the game and the variability.  The evolution of the game (ie the diversity of the players, the equipment, news coverage, etc)

The unbiased analysis. I’ve used the site a few times to help me find clubs to test.  I don’t know anyone personally on the site.

I can play all year with a bunch of good to great courses from which to choose.  It’s usually 50-60 all year with fog and muddy terrain.  That means I don’t need a ton of spin on my approach shots to hold greens, but it’s hard to get to par 5s in 2 shots.

Hello, this is my first post. Just joined and and am interested in all this site has to offer.

I have been playing golf since I was 14. Played once that year and became addicted very soon after that. I am 51 and my addiction is still growing. I normally only play 9 holes at a time from May to the end of September. Usually shoot from a couple under to a couple over on my home course.

I love EVERYTHING about golf. The challenge of the course, the weather, connecting with fellow golfers and the sheer beauty of nature. 

I found MyGolfSpy by accident and don't anyone who is a member.

I live in Tucson, AZ and play mostly at Fred Enke public course. I am originally from Wisconsin and played many of the wonderful courses there.

The best things about golf here is the number of excellent courses and the near perfect weather most of the year. I really prefer to play when it's very warm in the summer. The worst thing about golf here is the cost and the busyness of the courses all year except for the summer time.

 I am a personal trainer with mu own business.

My user name is just a shorter version of my full name.

Looking forward to hearing from people who share the same passion as i do.

An 11 claiming to be a hackster.   Golfers are funny. I'm an ~18. If you're down playing golf in the IE on a weekend and looking for a partner to play with drop me a line. Goose Creek is one of my favorite courses in SoCal.
