I was debating about whether or not to put a thread about him, I have recently checked him out as well and found him great. Lots of drills with specific purpose and he is great about interacting with people who leave comments looking for more help. I do love the way he breaks things down, an excellent teacher. I have found Chris Ryan's stuff to be pretty good as well. I used to be into Me and My Golf but I find they progress too quickly through things and they are more interested in promoting themselves and their products (which is fair, it's a business). PlaidJacket
I wouldn't say that I take lessons online but I do watch a few youtube vids from time to time. And occasionally I'll pick-up a tip that I like that seem to make sense to me. Two that come to mind are Shawn Clements and Clay Ballard. Badams69
Bender is very good. I personally also enjoy following these guys on youtube among others: Mike Malaska (so interesting whether or not I would use it all or not) Maria Palozola (beyond underrated for simple stuff that works) Van Phillips Tony Luczak Golf with Aimee - I think she is teaching golf - I might watch if she was just describing paper towels also! MeandMyGolf - these guys put up so much content and it keeps getting better and most recently...... Tyler Ferrell of golfsmartacademy.com - so thorough with concise vids for drills, concepts and feels. A few I personally have viewed but now avoid for various reasons although I'm sure they have good stuff that can benefit some, I personally just do not either agree it is for mass consumption or enjoy the way they deliver their message: Clay Ballard (I think he was initially asking you to subscribe to his pay service to get the point of any video, though that may have changed), Shawn Clement (just don't think most golfers would be able to parse out the good from the bad in his overall lineup of advice), Peter Finch - just not interesting to me. Gravity Golf, those guys may have a method, but just too far from the standard range of accepted fundamentals for my taste. TR1PTIK
I've started following James Jordan on IG and plan to do an online lesson with him as soon as the weather stabilizes enough for me to get the videos he needs. The price is a bit steep ($200) compared to a lesson at my golf course ($80), but seeing what he's done with some of his students gives me confidence he can help my game significantly. I like my pro and will continue to do lessons with him in the future, but something's not clicking at the moment and I need to see if someone can speak my language a bit better or something and get the light bulb to turn on. Wildthing
Mike Bender is mentioned in this article : How to Hit the Ball Straight- The Essential Elements' http://perfectgolfswingreview.net/straight.htm The article is based on TGM stuff and it seems that Mike Bender understands that the golfer needs to swing on the 'functional plane' . To ensure you are swinging on the functional plane , your clubshaft needs to 'trace' the 'Swing Plane Line'. More details that offer free chapters on TGM theory (obviously it is claimed to be outdated now because of high speed cameras and 3D Tech) can be found here if you are interested in learning more. http://www.theswingengineer.com/index.html Imho , click on the following chapters that first 'opened my eyes' regarding basic mechanics involved in the golf swing . 'The Power Package' http://www.theswingengineer.com/power_package.html 'Essentials' http://www.theswingengineer.com/essentials.html 'Imperatives' http://www.theswingengineer.com/imperatives.html Note: The author of that first link above is Dr Jeff Mann and it's an old article . He has now updated his opinions and no longer believes in certain TGM concepts (ie. He doesn't believe in PA3 being a Power Accumulator or Homer Kelley's concept of Horizontal/Diagonal/Vertical Hinging with the lead arm).

Wildthing
I 'think' Mike Bender advocates something called a 'Reactive' pivot. He advocates the intended movement of the arms/hands to accelerate the clubhead , while the body reacts to that intended movement. That means although the body is actually moving 'out of the way' to allow the arms/hand/clubshaft to be moved , the body pivot is not actively being used to propel the arms. Is that a correct assumption of his golfing philosophy?

Is that a correct assumption of his golfing philosophy? Wildthing, i am not sure if that is how he classifies the pivot or not. The intention is to feel as though your arms start the downswing. Once the club is parallel to the ground then I feel as though I am firing my hips as hard as I can. I am not an instructor and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn so my description may be way off base. All I know is that it works. I believe Mike trained under Mac O’Grady so I believe there is some influence from him.
