Would anyone be interested in joining an online running group on the Strava app? It’s free unless you want to pay for the extras.

 

As long as the bosses are ok with it, I’ll make a (MGS Track Team) group so we can encourage each other.

 

I’ve decided that I am going to train for the Marine Corps Marathon in October. They have the marathon and the 10k. So if I am not ready for the long haul I’ll bail and do the 10k.

 

Who’s coming with me?

 

 

 

You can track all sorts of activities, not just running.

I'd be willing to give it a go. I'm trying to get back in shape anyway and running will be a big part of that. I won't be looking to do any races (unless my wife wants to do another Tough Mudder), but it was nothing for me to go run 3 miles or more at some point during the week in high school. I'd like to think I could get back to that at some point. Count me in!

I'd be game.  I'm just now start to rebuild my run fitness after having been derailed the last two seasons with injuries (and life).   I'm already on Strava, so just let me know the group name.

I'm already on Strava, I use it to track my Peloton workouts so Its mostly cycling and not running, I'm happy to join the MGS group if one comes alive, It'd be nice to have some others to compete against a little activity wise.

I’m not on Strava I use Nike run app. I’m getting back to my 5 miles a day shape. After a few months of not running every day. I’ve found I’m winded around 3.1

So the Marathon is SOLD OUT.

It truly amazes me how many people pay to run in a herd of people for 26.2 miles.

I eventually want to add this to my small trophy case with my HOI ball and my World Champ Horseshoe Trophy.

But still, who pays to run?

You can run 26.2 miles in any direction from your house F.O.C on any day. Then one day you pay to shuffle along with thousands of others for the same distance.

I liken it to playing golf on a quiet course anytime you want, then one day you decide to pay a huge amount of cash and play on a really crowded course  yeah I get it's not quite the same but it helps my excuse for not running.

the big ones always sell out day one! Check the stats for this years NYC Lottery: 117,000 for like 10,000 spots!  London, Berlin and Chicago are the same!!  Come do Pittsburgh next year its a great run!
