Why doesn't Mizuno or Cobra make putters

Was just thinking of this....2 Pretty big names in the Golf Club market, neither of which have any putters.   Why do you think that is?   I think Cleveland has shown you don't have to make a $300-$400 milled putter to make a good one.   Market over saturated?   Lot's of smaller club makers have putters (Wilson Staff, B-Stone, Tommy Armour, etc...).     Lots of guys here that know the business a lot better then me, what are your thoughts?

I’d assume yeah. But they look really nice, and they are carbon steel I believe. I bet we see some in the next few years.

Cobra technically does “make” one for their boxed set.

Both brands I’d bet would sell a few here if they chose to enter that realm.

Mizuno- fantastic irons

Balls/Drivers and putters are all just so-so though, which is surprising.

Bettinardi used to make putters for Muzuno. For some reason that partnership wasn’t continued.

It comes down to a projected sales vs cost of manufacturing question and these companies probably evaluate making putters but don’t think it will be profitable yet.

Yes, Bettinardi worked with Mizuno for a few years, they made mainly anser style putters for them...at least that's all I have ever seen.  I too am surprised that these two major companies don't make their own brand of putters.  As cutting edge as Cobra is I would like to see what they come up with.

There were quite a few styles beyond the typical anser. Bettinardi also made 8802, mid mallet, and mallet designs for muzuno.

And I think Bobby Grace made putters for Cobra around that same time. Maybe a few years earlier. Didn't Bettinardi also make a Hogan series at one point? Those Big Ben and Baby Ben mallets I think were Bettys

Mizuno makes an MP line of putters, they're only in the Japan market though. I took pictures when I went to the Mizuno flagship store:

I wish Mizuno would add the MP Putters to North America... Maybe some day! They have now released balls so there is a chance.

My mate has a Mizuno putter (not sure what model though), which he loves. I've tried it out a few times, and it felt fantastic albeit a little firm.

Driver: Cobra F9 Speedback (9.0) with Fujikura Atmos 7X (Avalanche White) 

3 Wood: Callaway Epic Sub-Zero (15 degrees) in Rogue Max 75g stiff shaft

Hybrid (not in play): Callaway Apex 20 degree with Kurokage 80g Stiff Shaft

Driving Iron: Wilson Staff Utility Iron 18 degree with KBS Hybrid Stiff shaft

Irons: Wilson Staff CB 4-PW in KBS 120 Stiff shafts

I have an old Mizuno Carbon Black mid mallet made by Bettinardi.  Last year I used an Evnroll but not sure which one I will use this year.  

Driver - Ping G410

Woods - Callaway Rogue 5 wood

Hybrid - Titleist TS2 21 degree

Irons - Taylormade P790 5-PW

Wedges - Taylormade MG3 50, 54, 58, SM9 60

Putter - Mizuno Black Carbon BC3
