Turn signal not working

Hey Spies,

Need lil help.

My rear turn signals and hazards stopped working, front works fine but hyperflash.

Break lights and running lights work.

2006 dodge ram 1500

Fuses and bulbs are good.

Any thoughts?

Sometimes those wires run along the trunk lid and start to break from constant open and close of the lid. So you may have a broken wire.

This ^^^^^  The fast flashing lights are generally attributed to the relay, once you've ruled out the bulbs*. . At the very least it's replacement a fast and easy way to eliminate one potential source for the problem. .

Rapidly flashing turn signals is generally an indication of a bad bulb, as already noted.

I'd double check the bulbs and sockets first, then I'd be thinking bad ground.

Very odd, if your bulbs are indeed good. 

I guess maybe switch the Dodge to a Ford and you'll be good to go...jk

My red turn signal went out a couple days ago and it was beating faster than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest.   I went my auto zone and picked up a couple of replacement bulbs.   Worked like a champ !

Yup. Replaced all 6 bulbs and fuses are good.
Buddy said to check my towing pigtail and see if it is ok.
Never used it so it should be lol
Will check when I get home and the rains quit.

Yea I can't say I've ever used my towing pigtail either.

Interesting - there could be a short across the connector in the towing harness. Certainly doesn't hurt to check, however, if there was one I'd think you'd blow a fuse. Still think a signal relay may be a viable culprit

I’ve had similar issues in the past. 1 was in the turn signal switch with a loose wire. 2 was in the brake switch (little box under your brake petal). If your tail lights and brake lights use the same bulb, you might want to check the brake switch first.

Been checking. Don't think the dodge ram has those anymore.
It has a tipm that runs about $600 to replace. Basically a big motherboard.
Really hope it's just a loose connection in the rear of the truck.

We had a similar issue with our Mercury Mariner a few years back, and they stated it was some sort of motherboard issue as well. Bad thing is, they couldn't find a replacement anywhere.

The right rear blinker would be hit or miss, it would work for a few days then not at all. Everything else worked fine besides that. Lasted for months until we got rid of the vehicle.

Maybe go to a shop and get it fixed. Like immediately

I had this issue. And it was a $2800 fix. A major electrical fix that included the cars computer board. Get this car off the road and get to a service station ASAP

Well Tazz if all else fails arm signals will do. Apparently some others forget that you can still operate a vehicle safely and legally without a little flashing light.
