Berg Ryman
DOWN GOES EVNROLL... DOWN GOES EVNROLL!!!! Congrats to Taylormade's TP Juno Copper, the new king of the blade! Very interesting in a year where Evnroll rolled out some new ideas and shapes like TS1 and Odyssey brought out Stroke Lab, it's a pretty standard blade putter with a sweet look that did the damage this year. M. Parsons
Gotta say, I'm surprised to see so low on the list, but I think it might be due to the extreme offset they put in place on the ER1TS. GB13
It's been a strange year for most wanted testing so far. I've never really looked at TM putters, they always felt "out of balance" to me. (if that's even a thing) At the very least I'll be spending some time with the TM putters in the future. cnosil
For me, only a couple of the blade putters stood out and they were the Odyssey 3 and the Ping zb2. This mostly because they weren’t face balanced, weren’t plumbers neck, had lots of toe hang and were fairly hit off the face. Overall I would say I struggled with the blade putters in this years test. My personal testing is moving me away from blades and more towards the mallet designs especially since they have progressed past the face balanced designs and now offer mallets with toe hang. cnosil
So the MGS tests are the best of whatever (random) putters are submitted or chosen from the various manufacturers? If so, isn't "most wanted" misleading as it's most wanted from a random relatively small sampling that changes every year. How would the ER2 or ER3, respective winners in 2017 & 2018, done in 2019? I guess I should have known since the 2017 winners weren't tested in 2018. I was a little surprised to see Evnroll fare so poorly after the 2017 and 2018 results suggested otherwise. The 1TS is a very odd choice IMO with that radical offset. Oh well, I still love my ER2.You would have to ask MGS directly on what is asked for from the OEMs and ask the IEMs why they submitted the what they did. Some send certain models. Some send one, some send multiples of the same model, some are based on what is available at test time, and some based in what has been released into the market (for OEMs that don’t submit anything)I just test whatever I am asked to test. Some I like others I don’t but understand that the logistics of testing every putter in the marketplace is probably not feasible. Also the testers vary from year to year so what did well last year may or may not this year. What is provided is information that you can use however you want to make decisions. cnosil
Interesting - it appears Evnroll did extremely well in the 10 and 20 ft sections, but didn't do as well in the 5ft sectionPer a comment in the articles comment section this seems to be how they traditionally perform. Difficult to assess though unless you know the numbers that separate top from bottom. The example I have given in the past is if every putter was perfect from 5’, but the Evnroll only missed one it is in last place. Based on my game, I want better distance control so the 10’+ range is where I start looking Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: TS3 15* w/Project X Hzardous Smoke Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/:Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: TM-180 Testing: Backups: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017
txgolfjunkie
My putting stroke is straight back/straight through with little putter head rotation according to my latest SAM fitting. The fitter recommended only double-bend mallets with true face-balance for my very robotic stroke. That being said, I demoed a Ping ZB2 over the weekend and it performed wonderfully despite being a strong arc putter. Ironically the straight arc mallets did poorly during the demo. I was thoroughly impressed with the ZB2, especially with distance control.
