They have some stretch to them, but you'd have to ask a fat man about the squatting part.

Well from the “fat man”, I had no trouble with the pants. No trouble with any stitching either. And I felt like they breathed well compared to my old suit. Just order one size bigger in the jacket I would suggest.

and buy a waterproof hat!

I’ll be in Atlanta in a couple weeks and will see if I can stop by their place and try some sizes on. Headed to Ireland in late August. Thanks for the feedback.

Does anyone have any more feedback as the summer goes on?  I know we have rain in the forecast for this weekend here.  The suit has been in the bag the entire year and thankfully I have not needed it lately.  I will keep this updated as we go on through the fall.

Yeah, I’m thinking of getting the unlined pants as I can hem them. Many rain pants have that Velcro at the bottom which means i can’t hem them. Although, that will pretty much ruin the idea of putting them on mid round.

How stretchy are they to be worn as regular pants during a round? Also, fit pretty true to size?

I picked up one of the GB summer rain half sleeved rain jackets based on these reviews and it has met and exceeded my expectations. The quality is top notch and while I don't get a ton of rain out here, it's nice to have something to toss on in the event some pesky rain shows up. I also used it when I was in Tahoe recently and it kept me warm on those crips mountain mornings. Well done on the reviews, y'all!!!

No need to hem the pants as they will send them in the size that you want.  They are very true to regular pants and are not the easiest to get on mid round.  If doing that order a size up.

I'm 6'5" and need 36" waist 37 " inseam pants. Galway Bay is the only company to offer this length that sit where I want on my waist without a high rise (either droopy crotch or over the belly button). As a long legged guy, this is a unique problem for sure but it was great to find these perfect fitting pants on MGS. 

I played several rounds in Ireland this past March. It rained every day with one day of occasional sleet (see photo) at Druids Glen. The Galway Bay rain gear kept me comfortable and dry in all conditions. I ordered  both the lined and unlined pants along with the jacket and could not be happier with the purchase.

Thank you Galway Bay and MGS for bringing this rain gear to my attention.

Just a reminder to read through these awesome reviews as we head into fall and some precipitation may be with you on the course!

These guys did a fantastic job and a good set of raingear is definitely a must.

Shoulder and elbow injuries suffered over the last few years have limited my ability to get out consistently. Healthy for the first time in many years, I’m really looking forward to this golf season and getting my index back down. 

While golf is my main hobby I also enjoy motorcycling and bikers have a saying “If you don’t ride in the rain, you don’t ride!” It’s the same with golfing in the southeast, where we have daily pop-up showers that turn into torrential down pours during the summer-so if you don’t golf in the rain, you don’t golf! I’ve always wanted a coordinated rain suit, but never invested in one, instead keeping a pair of nylon pants from an old tracksuit in my bag and paired it with a pullover windbreaker.

Suit Selection & Sizing: 

I had my wife take all the measurements suggested by Galway Bay on their fitting chart, for reference I’m 5’10”, 175 lbs. Selecting the unlined pants was pretty easy I just took my pants size and added 2” to the waist so they would easily slide over golf slacks and used my true inseam size. The jacket was a little tricky, as I have a very wide back which bumps my chest measurement from medium to a large, but I have narrow shoulders and a thin waist. Their literature suggested jump up one size if unsure on the jacket so I selected the large lined jacket. 

I liked the look of the all black suit with aqua blue accents so I sent my selection and sizes to the company. Galway Bay responded to my e-mail immediately and I had my rain gear the very next day! It help’s to live approximately 2 hours from the company! The original review was supposed to be for unlined pants & a lined jacket. Unfortunately, they don’t have a lined jacket so I was ecstatic when Galway Bay sent me a base layer vest as well! They sent me a medium vest informing me that they run a little large. So far customer service is exceeding expectations!!!

First Impressions:

The packaging is first rate with a box inside a box holding my hand selected rain jacket! The box has nice branding with the Galway Bay logo with the tag line “Never Quit” 

I’m hard to fit and rarely do all the clothes I buy online ever work out, but the custom sizing chart appears to be quite accurate. I’m glad I went one size larger on the jacket, as swinging a club with it on proved the medium would have been too restrictive. 

The pants fit well, both in the waist & inseam, and were easy to pull on & off over my jeans and with a belt they can be worn sans pants. The vest also fits well and is very comfortable.

The material for the jacket & pants is lightweight & comfortable yet appears very rugged. The zippers all have pulls so if you are wearing rain gloves you can easily get into the pockets. That being said, the zippers were quite tight to pull open, not sure if that’s a function of the weatherproofing or just new zippers that will take a while to loosen up. 

The vest uses totally different materials and is more of a base layer than rain gear. It has two interior pockets, which are great for storing your phone & wallet. I would have actually liked to see an interior pocket or two on the jacket for warmer days when the vest is not an option.

Galway Bay claims their rain suites are 100% waterproof and 100% breathable fabrics that won’t leave you sweaty & stinky like other rain gear. They also claim their jackets and pants are tailored to be as comfortable to wear in the rain as they are in the sunshine. Looking forward to putting those claims to the test over the next few rounds and practice sessions. I can honestly say I have never before wished for rain on days I’ve had a tee time, until NOW! Do you, or anyone else, have the sizing chart you mentioned in your review? Ordered my TTS in the half sleeve jacket but it's a little long, wondering what the measurements are. I found a pants sizing chart, but nothing for their jackets other than that they fit true to size. Thanks!

Attached is the link to the sizing chart. Galway Bay suggested going up one size if you were unsure of fit on the jacket, doing so will allow you to swing freely without the fabric pinching anywhere.

I would love to provide an update on the suit, but we have been in a severe drought all summer & it has not left my bag. We tend to have rainy winters, but since it's still 96* here, a follow-up review is a ways off.

I’ve been wearing the pants to walk the dog this pst week as we had record rain fall in WA. They worked great! Granted it was hiking up and down a course, so not much sweat accumulation. But they kept me dry for the walks.

Okay we are back in the rainy season here in Georgia so I thought I'd do an update. First off the suit is holding up well no rips, tears or other issues, in fact, it still looks brand new. I wear the jacket everywhere when it's raining out and still find it very comfortable. I wore the pants as pants for the first time 2 weeks ago, previously I had worn them over golf shorts, and they were quite comfortable. We played on a particularly swampy day and a few swings threw mud all over me, which easily washed off with wet cloth after the round. So almost a year later still loving the Galway Bay rain suit!
