We might see Bryson intentionally play slow to get in Brooks' head. They're both top flight golfers and their personalities could not be more clashing. I think outside of seeing Tiger there it would be one of the most fun final pairings to watch.

There are small moments in a marriage that remind you that you are with the correct person.  This morning one of those moments occurred.

On Fridays, my wife and I are fortunate to both work from home. Since my work requires phone calls and video conferences, we work in different rooms in the house. She chose the living room today. I came out to grab a cup of coffee and she was watching Live from The Masters. I asked to switch rooms for the day as I don't have calls or conferences to join. I am relegated to watching from my computer screen.

I love that woman.

 you're right! I'll be watching regardless. Oh and if that pairing happens and the Scientist decides to play reaaaal slow maybe Koepka will play the rest of the round in his thong to throw off the Scientist's ongoiing calculations

I wouldn't call it weak by any means.  Definitely not deep as once you get past the 20 guys who have a realistic chance to win, it's not deep beyond that.   But any field with that many top players I don't think you can call week.

I was never one who "hated" Bryson.  I've liked him from the start, some find him brash, I find him fresh, some find him annoying with all the calculations, I find him "doing him" and that's ok.   There's no disputing his success.  Those doubters who said he was all geek and talk, and no game have been proven wrong.   I would love it if he wins this week, or for that matter if any one of 6 or 7 other guys win.   So many great stories in the making right now.

I wasn't a fan (still not) but I got a new impression of him following his show on Feherty.  New insight to what's going on with him and it is interesting.

I'm not sure what else you would want...these are the best golfers on the planet.

But I don't watch the Masters for the field, I watch it --mainly-- for the course...I love golf courses in general and a big part of the fun for me when playing is being among the trees, the grass, the flowers, the birds, the animals, the peace and quiet..... nature at its finest.  Watching the best dang players in the world do their thing is just the cherry on top.

I think some of that might be some of the critics in the media who seemingly want to call it the weakest field of all the majors.  But yeah give me this field every week, even if it's not 144 deep and I'd be tuned in the entire time.

I actually wondered the same thing. On number 8, he said spit it out and it took a second to realize he meant the trees not the gum! Gonna start using that one every round. Thanks Phil!

When I read your post,  I thought he just tapped the back;  nicked to me means barely hit the ball.   He flat out hit the ball off the toe and it would have gone 30+ yards had it not hit the tee marker.   Pretty funny to watch and listen to the player commentary.

He would have to win the OPEN before Rory wins at Augusta to do that.  He's won 3 majors so far, 2 of which were the US Open and then the PGA, so he still needs to win the Masters and The Open to complete his career slam.

I wish I had seen the Johnson gaffe - I got a text from a friend stepping us that he had that shot. I pointed out that ZJ could still easily beat him on the hole. :)
