Never gamed the Max. Never gamed any Ping club before this test

ok, I see you were just mentioning some  similar charactristics from the max. Im still gaming the LST, and todays round was just another exceptional driving day. Long and exactly where I aim it. If the 410 throws some additional yardage on top of the accuracy, then wow. My buddy can still out cork me with his Rogue SZ, but its often anyones guess where its going.

No baseball. No Softball. No Sh**! "Learn it. Know it. Live it....Time to hit the range..!!😎

After my normal warm-up, I started in with my nemesis...Driver🤬. Actually had some decent hits, but then realized..."Hey! You're trying to be too precise!" "Wind-up, be loose and let go dummy!"

Started feeling it and got some Mojo working on a perfect wind-less night. The shots just started coming and I began to hit the center of the face and began to just whip some of them off...

230... 230... 264...251....242.....241...….258...…...270........!

YES!!!!!🤩

I then pulled my G400 and un-corked several with it too...217...228...229...221...208...242...248...254

I can honestly say I've never had a driver shot go more than 240 before...EVER! My new-found grip along with a proper hip-flip has shown me something...distance.... and with both clubs! This battle for supremacy is ON!!! I finally had the chance to actually compare my two drivers side-by-side for real and took full advantage of it.

Tonight's conclusion? For once I am confident that I've gathered some valuable and tangible data that is easy to disseminate. The G410 was a true monster and I felt that it easily won the night in performance over my G400. I gave everything I had to the 400, but it just couldn't seem to keep up. I've never...EVER recorded a shot of 270 before, and yet there it was!🎆 The difference in average? 230 vs. 248!! This 410 has some real pop and so far, it appears to be holding up to PING's claims of being "better". I'm drinking the Cool-Aid now...🤪

More to come fellow spies. Cheers all!

Love it Ping Apologist, let's see you bring it to the course next 😁😎

Wow that's a great distance improvement #9! I wish I could say the same. I'm getting additional distance but not to that level. On the other hand they're straight so I'm meeting my objective.

Something keeps nagging at me... shafts.  During my fitting, all four shaft options were available, yet I only tested the CB Alta in reg and stiff.  Now it could be that my current shaft is in fact the best fit for me but I really wish I had tested the others.  That's the thing about lots of options - they fill our heads with questions.  Hopefully my club fitter here in MT has one or more of the optional shafts available and I can hit them to answer this nagging question in my head.

Remind me which one you currently have in it. I currently have a spare Alta CB in regular that I will be putting up for sale here shortly. If you want to try it (if using stiff), I'd be willing to send it to ya to play around with...

Alta CB Stiff.  I tested that and the regular and the stiff was best.  It's the other 3 options I did not test and keep wondering about... even straighter and longer?? 🤔

Alta CB is counterbalanced - as is the Tensei CK Orange.  Alta CB is lighter.  Not sure how the bend profile compares between the two.  The Evenflow Black and Ping Tour shafts are very different from eachother and the Alta and Orange.

I bet the PING Tour or the Mitsubishi Tensei CK Orange like I have would be fine candidates for you. After last night's range session, this Tensei really showed up and I'm glad I went against my "fitter" and selected it based on feel alone. Yeah, if you can, try those out, but unlike the CB I offered to send, I'm not willing to borrow out the CK...😜

Joe I'm envious of the results with your new shaft.

As I've reported out earlier the 410 SFT is very straight. Except for a few hits including a shank straight into the water I've been very pleased with probably 10 rounds.

As a comparison I had both my SFT and my GBB with me tonight on the course which I had set to neutral on the sliding weight so it should have been a close comparison given similar shaft flex. The SFT was slightly longer and was straighter than the GBB. Also at that setting the GBB was resulting in a slight pull.

I am a bit frustrated with my distance. Not sure if it's the weather, or the shaft flex (I have a senior flex in my GBB as well). Given my SS which is low to mid 80', the recommendation was a SR flex. It's another week before I can get to the fitter, but it'll be interesting what his recommendation is.

I was “fit” with a senior shaft with my Ping G driver and 400 irons. Last fall at a different fitter they had me in a regular shaft (Mizuno & Rogue) and I did pick up carry. My driver swing speed mid 80’s. Not sure what was going on but I will be going after new driver & irons this summer, probably regular shafts .

Any thoughts on best place to hit it on the face? With my g400, I feel a little high on the clubface is where I get the best results. I'm wondering if anyone finds that to be the case here.

Based on the pic I added above, it looks like the sweet spot for both my 410 & 400 SFT's are indeed just above the center line.

Rick

It will be interesting to see what the fitter pulls out of his bag. I took my GBB driver that I changed to a regular shaft last night to play 9 and got about the same distance. But the GBB Was definitely not straight like the SFT, mostly a push-fade.

Straight to the range again tonight with different conditions out there; 10-mph wind direct into us all evening. I decided to play around with the loft settings a bit after my normal up-the-bag warm-up. What I didn't report last night was for the whole session, I was set at -1 putting it at 9.5*. I started there for a few shots tonight and then went to -1.5 (9*) with "meh" results. Took it completely the other way to +1.5 (12*) and started getting some balloons. Backed off to +1 (11.5*) with similar results. Tried "neutral" at 10.5* with ok results, but back at 9.5* seems to awaken the beast. No bombs past 245 into the wind, but I continued to let 'em rip with many hits in the sweet spot. 9.5* is the setting for me. Also, my little launch monitor shows ball speed (not clubhead speed darn it), but my average ball speed with my new grip & hip flip is a much improved average of 139-mph. That roughly equates to around an average swing speed of around 95-mph if I read things right. Much better than the mid 80's I saw during fitting with a crap swing.

More to come. After baseball tomorrow in the morning, I will be golfing in the afternoon with my scramble group at Quail Hollow in Boise. This course is one of more challenging courses in the area with lots of elevation changes and blind shots that are very difficult to tackle. I hope to make some good impressions with this baby! Cheers fellow Spies!

Looking forward to hearing how it went at Quail Hollow. I'm looking for a driver upgrade and all these posts have me excited about checking out the Ping products. Thanks!

So slightly high and slightly toe is the Goldilocks zone for this driver then....

Maybe that's a driver test for next year for MGS, find the sweet spot on each driver face 😁😎
