Well, there aren't that many DTC balls on the market, so I'm going out on a limb and saying the Snell ball (not sure which one) will be the longest.  I'd be really surprised if it was anyone else because none of the other companies appear to have the experience of a "Dean Snell" to provide the technical expertise to pull this off.

The DTC would likely be the Snell MTB-X, but I think on distance alone it could one of the Vice balls. I love that the test was done by a robot, and every ball was tested exactly the same. There is no other way to do it fairly. I hope the stuff hits the fan. The comments and fallout will be fun to watch.

... If my TP5x is 2.3 yds short than the winner it would be statistically insignificant for me. But if it is 5.3 yds shorter or more, that will get my attention. It will be interesting but in the end it's just a golf ball and anyone other than the company that doesn't test well should not be loosing any sleep. But of course they will. 🤔

It means they aren't sold through a distributor like Golf Galaxy or through your local club. You have to order directly from the company. These include Snell, Vice, Cut... etc.

I've got no idea, but I enjoy making random guesses so, Snell MTB X is the longest, and Chrome Soft is the shortest.

I really hope it’s bridgestone or Titleist that is the shortest. I also hope they are the bottom 2. They probably won’t, but it sure would be fun to watch if they were.

Just going off Tony's tweets over the last few weeks...I bet it's Snell or Vice with the long ball and the Wilson Duo Soft with the short one.

Based off my experience, Wilson's on the bottom for distance wouldn't surprise me.

But I'm more curious about left /right dispersion, I heard there are some real differences there.

... Duo Soft wont be in the test, but the Duo Professional Urethane will. Previous version of the Duo Urethane was short for me as was Bridgestone RX. Chrome Soft was also short but not by anywhere near 17 yds, so I will be surprised if that is the case.

Lolol yes. I’m hoping my gamer is at the bottom so I can switch to the long ball and buy a rocketballz driver and then 300 yard drives should
Be no problem at all!

Some of the social media replies over the weekend were ridiculous!

  • "How did you combat the inconsistency of the testers who got to hit ball?"
  • "This feels like clickbait.  Like you're taking one extreme result from one tester who hits it further...."
  • "Why are you just testing driving distance.  Spin rate and compression matter just as much as distance...."

I hate social media!  Posts on social media should come with a warning label.  "I saw one thing about golf ball testing, didn't bother to research anything about it but feel overly qualified to ASSUME I know everything you're doing!"

Yes, and let us not forget this bias in this study since as we discussed, it is unlikely that any left handed robots were used during testing. It is a well known fact that balls perform differently for right vs left hand robots.
