What's on your "wish list?"

In late 2009, I had the pleasure of working with Gene Nead in having him come up with this custom putter (based on his AS02, http://www.neadcustomputters.com).

In the near future, I plan to have him build a custom blade similar to an old MacGregor model (don't wanna spill the beans too much yet!).

What about the rest of you?

I picked up a TP MIlls softtail shortneck and love it. Never getting rid of it.

Nice looking putter, but I am wary of all these custom putter brands. They are all the same design (anser) and probably feel the same. Just an excuse for a higher price tag.

I really want the BB26 from Bettinardi... My next putter will be the classic anser shape, black finish, center shafted, >350 and this putter hits all 4 of those requirements.. Others that have my interest are the SeeMore's.. Can't say I like the silver heads with the black shaft tip but I did see new one's the other day that have black heads... very nice...

This seems like a pretty brazen statement, unless you've had experience with all the custom designers to back it up. There are certainly people with more experience than I have, but I've putted with Byrons, Scottys, Bettinardis, Mills, and probably some others that I'm forgetting. While all of these companies do have Anser-based styles, they all offer unique things as well and the variation in feel can be tremendous.

I would bet that Gene Nead will be more substantial than any fly-by-night operation. He laid out significant capital expenditures (think 6 figures) on milling machines - CNC and manual - so that he could do everything in-house (North Carolina).

He also does much more than just Anser designs, and his prices are in line with - and in many cases, below - those of other designers.

Keep an eye out for his milled wedges sometime this year, too!

I posted about this in the Cameron thread...but I'll repeat it here since this is my wishlist putter.

I want a Cameron Circa 62, no.2 with the heel/toe weights in the sole for the added forgiveness, but instead of being heel shafted I want the hosel to come in between heel and center shafted.

---- edited, to add -----

And make that wish to include being personally fit for the putter by Cameron, and having him personally make it for me. B)

Edel putter with Vari-Loft. That'll set me back $800, but I won't need a putter again.

Does it have to be putter?

If not, well, here it goes:

Either the Taylor Made R9 SuperTri, Titleist 909D2, or Cobra S2. Those are also my top three for new 3-woods.

We are in the putter forum...LOL.

Morris, that Gene Nead is awesome. Congrats on that!

And you're right about having that peace of mind. The rest of us torture ourselves wanting stuff we can't have.
