@edingc THEZIPR23 thanks! It's crazy between the SuperSpeed sticks and the Epic Flash what they combine to do. Speed + forgiveness makes it fun to get on the tee box. How's the weather up your way? I know you've been tearing up the driver on wet fairways and I really want to see how you'll do when you get some roll.

@sirchunksalot

Nothing better than combining the SS training and this driver. You've had two very complementary testing opportunities!

It's still very wet. Almost two inches of rain in the past five days. I managed to get to the range on Friday, but a lot of courses around here closed Saturday and my home course was walking only today.

I've been nursing a sore shoulder since all of my swings last week, so no playing or SuperSpeed training. Planning on walking nine tomorrow morning, but it'll be a swamp again, I'm sure. Some day it'll be dry!

@docjim Answer coming your way shortly.

Shot a pretty-average-for-me 45 this morning before work. Course was absolutely soaked (the ninth green felt like a waterbed!).

Best drive of the day came on hole five - 230 yards down the middle, leaving me a little 70-yard wedge into the green. Pulled my approach a bit left of target but still finished out with a GIR and two-putt par.

20190528_075851.jpg.f3c31da4cc779c71614d75f7c64bd13f.jpg

I actually hit 6/7 fairways thanks to some lucky bounces off trees. I found trees on four of my seven drives, which really kills the average driving distance in a hurry. My home course really puts a premium on driving accuracy, something I did not have today.

I hit the range at lunch and really noticed the forgiveness of the driver today. I had several heel shots that still went a long ways, and all within a reasonable distance offline. And I definitely can feel where the mishits are, which is nice feedback to have as well.

Played in a tourney Sat & Sun and since this is a thread regarding a driver we will not discuss scores 🙄. Saturday weather was fine and was hitting everything well The Flash is amazing. Driving handicap was +6.5 with a deviation of 17.1 yards. This is phenomenal for me in a tournament round. Usually there will be 1 or 2 drives that cause some serious trouble. This was not the case, just complete confidence every time the club is in my hands. Sunday was miserable weather wise it started raining 5 minutes before we teed off and didn't stop for 4 1/2 hours. If it wasn't a tournament I wouldn't have played, in fact about 10% of the field was WD. 12th hole a rules official had to squeegee the green just so I could putt. During my practice round, the week prior I hit a drive 320 right down the middle on the 13th hole, Sunday I hit the same drive if not a little harder on same hole and it went a total of 230. With all of that my driving handicap was still +1.5. I just continue to be amazed by The Flash, I have always been a good driver of the golf ball but this thing as blown my mind.

Hit 9/14 fairways yesterday but lost one OB and had to take an unplayable on another. I only lost one tee shot left on the opening hole yesterday, and for me that's what is most important. I was playing pretty poorly overall, and even though I struggled to find any decent swing, I still felt confident in the Flash.

I am about to run out of superlatives to describe how good the Epic Flash Sub Zero is. I played today with a couple of friends and the driver showed up in a big way. Nothing else in my game did, but the driver was just epic.

Had two drives go 270+, my driving handicap was 5.5, and I averaged 243 off the tee. That's with hitting a worm burner on 15 that went 173 and a weak block on 4 that only traveled 210. Screenshot_20190527-140758-01.jpegScreenshot_20190527-140806-01.jpegScreenshot_20190527-140853-01.jpegScreenshot_20190527-140911-01.jpeg

The shot on 8 that went 271 is a new personal best, and the first bomb that didn't have the advantage of the slope that funnels the ball downhill on 18. Sure, I pulled it and followed up with a lousy 3 wood, but it went long!

Overall, I shot 49/50 for a 99. My short game started out good, them decided the heat was too much for it and it left.

@edingc it's sounds like you made the best of a soggy day and it sounds like your Epic Flash was performing for you. A 230 yard drive on a day where the green was like a waterbed is a complete bomb! Going 6/7 on fairways, especially with the trees involved, is phenomenal. I'm also impressed by your ability to get a wedge to the green in wet conditions, I would so chunk that shot. Great round!
@THEZIPR23 having a +6.5 and a +1.5 driving handicap is awesome!
@yungkory 9/14 plus getting to play in Hawaii is incredible! I'll agree with you that Callaway has made the confidence go up with driver in hand. It feels like every tee shot something good is about to happen when the ball gets in the air.

You fellas keep up the outstanding work! It really is good and informative reading and something to be inspired by.

BTW, I only just now read what "model" of golf ball you use in your signature...LMFAO! Good stuff!

I had one of my best range sessions in recent memory today. Not only was the weather finally into the 70s and sunny, the pulled muscle in my upper back is feeling better. Toss in a simpler approach to my swing (steady head, good takeaway and let the arms relax and follow through were really my only thoughts today), and I am very excited for my upcoming rounds.

As usual, when swung well the Epic Flash continues to impress. My efficiency was much better today than last week. I saw a lot of swings like this one.

I have plans to play 18 holes Sunday morning, nine holes Tuesday morning and Wednesday I have an 18-hole, four-person fundraising scramble for work. This is the same scramble that last year almost made me give up golf because of how poorly I played. It will be fun to be out there with a new swing and a better mental approach. The Epic Flash will play a big part in that.

Hey-oh! My stage two is up as well!

We had more rain on Saturday and the course was closed this morning, so no new golfing updates. So excited to get the Epic Flash out on Tuesday and for my scramble on Wednesday.

great job on the stage 2's gents!  very impressive.

It seems you all had a great time and generally noticed the same things - color scheme/sound.

Funny that no one liked the color scheme they chose.  I wonder who came up with it?  They really should stick with the basic red/white/blue colors.  Good thing it's just on the bottom of the club so you can't see it at address.  🙂

Wonder if any of you guys would entertain changing the paint fill to something else?

Was it the green?  the yellow?  or the combination of both?

Needless to say - if this is the first driver built on AI and with all the success, I don't see how Callaway goes away from it.

Thanks for the kind words.

It is interesting that we all had basically the same take on colors and the sound. Both colors are horrible and the headcover makes it worse. My guess is that if the performance wasn't as great as it is, those two things could be a deal breaker. I have thought about doing some paint fill but I'm a little OCD so not sure if I could handle it if it wasn't perfect.  I would imagine that in the not to distant future it won't be just Callaway doing AI, it will be everyone.

If you scroll to the top in Tapatalk it’s post #3, 5, 7, and 9.

Thank you to the Mods for reserving the space for the stage 2s. It would be a big pain to find them in the apps otherwise.

I get errors saying missing link or no access rights when I click the links. But skipping back to the top seemed to work.

At any rate, I ended up reading them on my computer! Haha

Great job on all the stage 2s. Callaway certainly had a performer on their hands and it looks like The staff selected some good MGSers to thoroughly review them.
@sirchunksalot I’m slightly shocked that the Flash So handily beat out your G400 LST. That club seems to already gained Classic status with its cult following. Let me know if you need somewhere to send it! Haha

Great job testers! Thanks for your honest feedback and backing it all up with some great numbers!

This was so much fun. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm a numbers person so getting to see everyone's stats is very satisfying.

I will clarify a bit on the color scheme. I love the loud head cover, and I'm not completely hating on the color scheme choice. I like to be loud with my color choices in golf attire (a rather vibrant coral color has made its way into my wordrobe lately), so the head cover and club are natural extensions of that.

What I dislike is the amount of color used on the bottom. The green and yellow are fine, and as @yungkory pointed out, they look great on the crown. But there is just so much green on the bottom. Callaway should have added more chrome or black instead, and left the green and yellow to just accent colors.

I just want to say thanks to all of you who have been involved in this thread, every one of you have been great commenting, asking questions, and being encouraging.

@B.Boston I'm really surprised, too. The G400 LST is a phenomenal driver, I think it all comes down to consistency. The Flash just his the ball straight, most of my left misses were just pulls with no side movement. The Ping just had a tendency to want to slice a bit. I sometimes wonder if I might eventually want to reshaft it to a stiff and see what happens.

On the color, I'll agree with@edingc and@yungkory that the combination is good - in moderation. Too much is just not the best look, but as @GolfSpyStroker said, at least it's on the bottom. When it all comes down to it, the performance trumps looks.

I think it might be like a fungus and is starting to grow on me a little. Honestly, I think Callaway should have went with a green the color of faded dollar bills because this thing is money.
