sirchunksalot 15,764
Thought I'd post this as I'm on the course and stuck behind a group of slow players. I haven't hit to many good shots today as my score reflects on the 8th hole. But I did set a personal best drive today. That's the positive so far out of this round. 276 is a bomb for me! edingc 12,059
Moral of this whole journey for me this season: If you want to play better golf, it's worth it to find a qualified fitter. I've played 72 holes with the HZRDUS Yellow in the Epic Flash and am ecstatic with the performance of the club. Since changing shafts, I've posted 18 hole scores of 84, 85 and 82, nine hole scores of 39 and 44 and my trending unofficial handicap has fallen below 13. The driver has been a huge part of my success. My driving performance during four of those rounds (unfortunately GAME Golf somehow lost the 85), has been just under that of a 5 handicap: During that four round span, I've hit 17 drives 250 yards or longer, including drives of 270, 272, 273, 280, 293 and a new personal best of 301 yards. If you've been following along from the start of this review, a good drive for me during the initial testing was 240-245 yards. A lot of this is improvement in my swing, but having a club that I'm very confident in is a huge help. I love this club and it's forgiveness. It was good with the HZRDUS Smoke, but it's been a beast with the HZRDUS Yellow. I do miss the align grip, as the shaft I have from Callaway Pre-Owned only came with a regular Golf Pride New Decade Multi-compound grip. Something I may consider adding back in the future. 5 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 8.6 / Anti-Cap: 15.3 (Last Updated May 25, 2022) Driver: Callaway Epic Max LS (9°), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Club Champion Fitting 17° Hybrid: Callaway Super Hybrid, 41.5", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 21° Hybrid: Callaway Epic Flash, 40", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", UST Mamiya Recoil 110 F5 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. bmaru99 154
I hit this driver for the first time at Golf Galaxy this weekend on the GCquad. Holy geez is this thing ever amazing. I was amazed at the results I was getting with this club. My best drive wen 345 yards on a 123mph swing but that was just crazy for me to see. Definitely going to look into purchasing this club in the off season hopefully i it gets a nice sale. 6 Quote WITB 2019 Driver: Taylormade M2 8.5 w/ Xstiff Aldila RIP Beta shaft 2 Iron: Talormade P790 UDI 17 degree w/ Hazardus Xstiff driver shaft 4-PW: Taylormade PSI iron w/ KBS C-taper stiff iron shafts 52 degree: Cleveland RTX 3 56 degree: Callaway Mac Daddy 4 60 degree-:Taylormade milled grind Putter: Scotty Cameron Dual Balance X5 Ball:ProV1x

edingc 12,059
Been about a month since my last update, and the Epic Flash continues to help my game. I really started struggling with the driver a few weeks ago, but after making a small swing change (more secondary axis tilt at address) I've been much more accurate and longer the past few rounds. My trending unofficial handicap continues to fall, now sitting around 11, and during the last three rounds I've been better off the tee than the average 5 handicap according to GAME Golf. I cannot get past the forgiveness and length of this driver. Last night's round was played on a course carved out of an old apple orchard, very open and very windy. A few drives caught nice tailwinds and I ended up with five drives over 250 yards, with two of those drives topping 275 total. During this morning's round I had five drives of 260 yards or longer. Coming from someone who had rarely seen 240 before this year, I'm still in awe of this club. The shot that stuck out most to me this morning was my drive on No. 13, a 330-yard par 4. I mis-hit the ball high on the club face and toward the toe. Not only did the ball stay right near the fairway, it still traveled 249 yards despite basically falling straight down from the sky, leaving me a wedge into the green. I stuck my 54 degree wedge to three feet and birdied the hole. The forgiveness is silly. 5 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 8.6 / Anti-Cap: 15.3 (Last Updated May 25, 2022) Driver: Callaway Epic Max LS (9°), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Club Champion Fitting 17° Hybrid: Callaway Super Hybrid, 41.5", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 21° Hybrid: Callaway Epic Flash, 40", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", UST Mamiya Recoil 110 F5 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B.
