Were you fit for the hzrdus shaft in that head? I would be curious to see how the ventus plays out for you. 1700 spin might be great on launch monitors but that is an spin that could be no bueno on the course. Typically with lower spin like that one would want higher launch to keep the ball in the air.

Most pros wouldn’t play those numbers.

The Hzrdus was the best stock shaft for me when I went through a fitting last year.  The Ventus was the best exotic when I went to Club Champion.  I tried about 10 different shafts including the Graphite Design and Accra shafts you listed.

"Most pros wouldn’t play those numbers."  Not sure how to respond to that comment.  I'm not a pro, never have been, and never will be.  The Ventus Blue was the best shaft FOR ME.  I would hope everyone on this forum would be smart enough to do their own fitting and not buy something based on another's numbers.

I have been playing this shaft for the past 4 rounds.  I have to say that it is a stable shaft, and I find that my misses are better with this shaft.  It is still too early in the process to know for sure, but I am encouraged with the initial results, and hope it continues on the same path.

For what it's worth I just went through a fitting at Club Champion this week and the Ventus Blue 6X beat out my Hzrdus Smoke Black shaft (stock Callaway) hands down.  Spin was pretty low for both shafts but carry and total distance increased quite a bit with the Ventus.  Most importantly that nice little dispersion circle shrunk with the Ventus.

Congrats! I saw a big reduction in dispersion with the Ventus as well!

Play what you like and feel comfortable with. That’s all that matters. Everything else is just “noise”.

I've heard such great things about this shaft.  I had a fitting at Club Champion about 1 1/2 years ago and was fit into the Fujikura Pro 2.0 Tour Spec 7X and had a much better dispersion circle at the fitting, but real life results have been better, but not nearly as good as the fitting.

Unfortunately, the Ventus shaft wasn't available at that point, but will try a few local fitters to see who has one in stock that I can try.  If a local course fitter has one in stock I may try to do a playing fitting so that I can really get a real life perspective.

I won a SIM max 3W with the Ventus Blue FW-5R shaft at a recent PGA superstore opening, and for a stock shaft where I wasn't fit this thing IS A WEAPON. I have never hit such great shots from the fairway with a 3W in my life. 220 yds all day long with minimal dispersion. I haven't gone through extensive LM testing but in real life it pretty much goes where I am aiming!!

Looking forward to upgrading the 5w and Hybrids similarly.

That shaft is ventus in name only. It’s the made for shaft. the after market shaft will have velocre printed on the shaft.

Nothing wrong with the made for as it’s designed to fit the vast majority of golfers and it’s working for you.

I'm interested in hearing from someone that has played some recent LS/LL shafts and how this one compares.  I keep reading how this shaft feels so stable.  My most recent shafts that I have liked/played are the Aldila NV 2KXV Green, Mitsubishi Tensei CK Pro White and Oban Kiyoshi Black.

I'm curious to see what CC suggests when I eventually have them dial in my new clubs. The Ventus is very intriguing to me, but I do wonder if it would be a bit overkill (on price) for me. I could certainly stand to see some improvement, but I'm already longer than the average golfer and have little trouble finding the short grass - most days.

It’s a good shaft if one gets in the right flex and weight. It’s tip stiff and the tech works for improving dispersion. My issue was days where my swing was off distance suffered due to the launch.

I’m mostly just needing something a little heavier and tip stiff to bring my ball flight down. If Ventura could give me noticeably better dispersion as well I’ll probably go ahead and do it. As much as I saved on my new driver, adding the Ventura wouldn’t cost much more than a stock SIM or Mavrik.

Blue, Stiff, 65-gram is what I'm thinking, but I'll just leave it up to my fitter to make a specific recommendation when I get to it. I'm not about to take a chance pulling the trigger on a $350 shaft without having another set of eyes take a look.

I’m not necessarily looking for one. Having spent the better part of last year playing the blue 65x I’m not sure the shaft is what I need/want. I like a stiff tip shaft to help with my launch and spin but this one my be a little stiffer than I prefer.

Little back story first. Went through a driver fitting at The Performance Center at Sawgrass about 1 1/2 years ago (prior to Ventus launch) and ended up with a TM M6, 10.5 with Tensei Orange 60g, stiff shaft.. SS was right at 100.

A year later and much stronger (14 months in the gym), my M6 blew up. Went back to The Performance Center to test all the new drivers and hit the Ventus. I really wanted the Ventus, hit several shafts in the SIM Max and it just didn't fit my swing.

Ended up with SIM Max 9.0 w/Hzrdous Smoke Green, 70g shaft. SS now 109.

Played my first full round with it Sunday and had a phenomenal driving day!! Love this new driver!

Which ventus shaft? The made for or real deal. Unfortunately they look the same but are completely different. Just want to make sure that anyone comes in has an understanding of which one. My guess is that based on what you were fit to with the hzrdus green and it being a stock offering the ventus used in the fitting was the made for.

Good point and sorry bout that. Yes, I tested the "real" Ventus shafts. I tried the blue 6-7S & 6-7X. I really wanted to love them.....just wasn't getting the perform out of them that I got with the Smoke Green.

So I was fit at CC for the Ventus 6R Red shaft in a Mizuno ST200, problem is the cost.  Any similar feeling shaft that won't break the bank?

Feel is all subjective. Some might say as example an evenflow is comparable in feel which in my experience with evenflow blue and ventus blue there are some similarities, but other would say they don’t feel the same.

For $10 you can get access to EI profiles on golfshaftreviews to compare that might help better than getting various subjective opinions

Your welcome. I’ve been in the hzrdus yellow for awhile thru fittings and have played with ust Mamiya shafts in between for the most part. So I haven’t really tested many shafts outside of those and some of the newer graphite design shafts. Here are some additional thoughts since my initial reply.

i had the chance to play evenflow blue before release and it’s a good shaft but for my transition sometimes I felt like I needed to go after it. The ventus is even more tip stiff to me than evenflow but offers similar stability.

Something that might work similar would be an Aldila rogue silver or black

Your welcome. I’ve been in the hzrdus yellow for awhile thru fittings and have played with ust Mamiya shafts in between for the most part. So I haven’t really tested many shafts outside of those and some of the newer graphite design shafts. Here are some additional thoughts since my initial reply.

i had the chance to play evenflow blue before release and it’s a good shaft but for my transition sometimes I felt like I needed to go after it. The ventus is even more tip stiff to me than evenflow but offers similar stability.

Something that might work similar would be an Aldila rogue silver or black

Even though my SS isn't that high, I can get a little quick or aggressive with my transition, so a stiffer tip would be helpful.  I will take a look at the Aldila range.  Any experience with the Mitusbshi line?  CK orange or Kuro Kage?

The Kuro kage is another shaft I think people either love or hate. I have not used one on a regular basis since the g20 drivers came out when the fitter put me in that over a Diamana whiteboard. I tests in the z545 driver and it took spin off for me without hurting launch. I think it’s another viable option.  The ck orange I hit one time on the range in g410 and put it away. I had a two way miss with that and shaft compared to the hzrdus yellow and ping tour 65 shaft during my fitting

For feel, I think the Fujikura Pro 2.0 feels near identical to me, just not as stable. But for flex, tempo and shaft load I don't know if I could tell them apart.
