KCLeo12
I gotta agree with you guys on this one. A grip with a flat side like what Bryson uses would make this much easier, mostly because it would make placement on the forearm much more consistent. A longer grip would also be great, although I don’t mind having my finger tips on the tapered part of the grip. CarlH
Putted yesterday on less than favorable greens (recent punch and sand). Didn't putt any better or worse than I would have with my regular putter. I did find that having to take longer strokes to overcome sand had the tendency to get off line. This is not the fault of the putter, but rather the clown holding the putter. Putted several from the fringe, one from 6 inches on 2nd cut with similar results I would normally expect. I birdie the first hole (par 5) with a 8 foot putt to win a skin, as well as one putting another par 5 for another skin. ole gray, JohnSmalls, GB13 and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: Rogue ST Max (10.5* set at -1 and neutral) -- Mitsubishi Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Fairway: Rogue ST Max 3 wood (16.5*) and Heaven Wood (20*)-- Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Hybrids: Rogue ST Max 5H (23*)--Tensai Blue 55g R shaft Irons: Apex CF19 6-9, PW, AW -- KBS Tour Graphite TGI 70 shafts R +1/2 inch 3* upright Wedges: Edison 53* and 57* KBS PGI 80 Graphite +1/2 inch 2* upright Putter: L.A.B. GB13
I've not been able to get out for a round in the last few days, due to some atrocious weather, and it is supposed to snow here on Saturday. WTF?!? Anyway, I've still been practicing a decent amount inside, and I can say I'm getting quite comfortable with the armlock. I'm feeling like I can make a pretty consistent stroke, but whether I'm actually improving my putting remains to be seen. Does anyone have any questions? Consistency is one of the main things I'd like this putter to give me and it hasn't yet, although I'm probably just being impatient. This putter is showing flashes of brilliance, and flashes of darkness. For example, my round yesterday, I had 24 putts and putted lights out. Today, I had 37 putts (no, not a typo), and couldn't make anything outside 2 inches. It's a work in progress, but I am moving in the right direction. downlowkey
Work was hectic this week and I subsequently missed a few days of outdoor practice. We have weather rolling through soon that will probably cost me a few more outdoor practice sessions this week. So I headed out in the chill & 40 mph gusts this evening for 40 foot wind tunnel testing. The majority resembled the three in the video. Bumpy freshly punched greens and wild random gusts were conditions conducive to my camera falling far more often than the putts. GB13
Just a quick update: The weather here has been really crappy, so I haven't been able to get out for a round recently, but I have continued putting inside, and have really been working on not taking the putter outside and leaving the face open. I'm loving the armlock feel so far, but I'm going to need to keep practicing to build a good stroke. At this point, I'm leaning toward keeping it in the bag, but I'm gonna need a lot more on-course time to say for sure. downlowkey, GolfSpy MPR and goaliewales14 3 Quote Wilson Staff C300 9.0* Fujikura Pro 58 stiff Callaway Rogue 3W Mitsubishi Diamana D+ LTD 80 stiff Mizuno MP-18 MMC FLI-HI 2 iron UST Mamiya Recoil 95 stiff Ping I200's 4-W Aerotech Steelfiber I110 CW stiff Ping Glide 52* and 58* stiff Bettinardi Studio Stock #38 Armlock
goaliewales14
I've been curious based upon this tread so I gave this putter a try at my local PGA SS. Initial thoughts were I really liked it! I did notice the need to move the ball back in your stance, and it did feel awkward at first. After a few strokes, I really started to get into a groove with it. I can 100% understand need a while with it to get comfortable. Even though I started to get a feel for it, I really had to concentrate on the stroke. MDGolfHacker
Just catching up on all these threads. Great job on the stage one's! I'm intrigued by this putter as I tend to break my wrists on putts. Looking forward to your stage 2's! MDGolfHacker KCLeo12, downlowkey and GB13 3 Quote TSssWhat's In This Lefty's Bag?
