Jpgolf416
I am not a dad myself but for anyone out there that has little ones interested in getting into golf one thing that really helped accelerate my game at a young age was at the age of about 9 or 10 or so. I was ready for my set of full clubs, my grandfather had cut down and fitted me with a set of Ben Hogan Apex blades. Blades for a 9 year old??!! His thought process was that while it would be frustrating for a little while once I learned to hit those I could play literally any other iron you handed me. It may not work for everyone but it definitely helped me later on when I would go on to my next set of irons(ping i3) and then onto my current set(ping s55) it has made my ball striking 100x more accurate. tony@CIC and wipierce 2 Quote Link to comment
wipierce
I've heard a lot of people say this worked for them. I got my boys clubs that fit them while they were growing. Now, my oldest at 14 is hitting Mizuno MP59 blades. Either way works. russtopherb
I got my son the Cobra King Jr set because I don’t care about later on in life, I want him to have fun and enjoy the game now, not make things more difficult for him.
