Jason H
I am looking for ball to play. I keep switching up. Played Wilson duo optic orange..way long. Srixon soft feel, chrome soft, vice, slazenger raw, and others. Bridegstone e6 speed seemed one of my favorites and my longest drive...265yrds. I liked the idea of softer ones for more distance but now that I'm getting better I'm not holding greens or overshooting them. My average club head speed is about 93. Any suggestions? tony@CIC
I just switched to TM's Project A. It's a urethane ball and compression=70. I've used E6 before but didn't like them around the greens. There is an official thread going for the newer E12's but I haven't used them. hckymeyer
Best advice is to pay attention to the balls you find on the course. Then test them out as you find them until you find something you really like. May take a little longer but it's much cheaper than buying a bunch of random balls to test out. Also MGS just finished their huge golf ball testing. Hopefully the results will be coming soon so I would also recommend waiting to read that article before making a big purchase. cnosil, Just another lefty, Jason H and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: SLDR w/ Fujikura Ventus Black 3w: '16 M2 hl w/ Diamana D+ 82 5w: Launcher HB w/ HZRDUS Yellow Hybrid: 22 deg. Testing when I find them is how I discovered the AVX. I will sometimes compare 4 or 5 balls off tee, approach, greenside, and putting. I've also traded with guys on the course. Much cheaper then buying sleeves. russtopherb
Q Star Tour or Project (a) all day long. I will say though, that at 93mph driver swing, if you're not getting enough height with your irons even a urethane ball may not have stopping power. I can hold a green fine with a Wilson Duo now, whereas for a little while I was height challenged so approach shots ran off the green no matter the club or the ball. Have you tried Callaway Chrome soft ?? I used to play the hex chrome's a while back and that were pretty soft decently priced ball. There are a whole lot of options there these days though. I haven't had a chance to try them myself but I hear Vice makes some pretty good balls as well. Jason H 1 Quote Link to comment

wipierce
I don't have any specific ball choices for you just thoughts on choosing. Play different balls throughout a single round. This will give instant feel feedback within the round. Some people suggest an entire round per type of ball but that just doesn't work for me.
