TOMMYVEEE
So I've read a bunch of good things about the cbx fairway woods and decided to hit ebay try one out. Found a good deal and pulled the trigger. However, It has a kuro kage r shaft in it and I usually play a project x 6.0 shaft. So I thought that I could pull the shaft, trim a half inch and reinstall the shaft, accomplishing a couple of things. First, it would stiffen the shaft up a bit and also get the club to my preferred playing length for a 3 wood of 42.5 inches. Think this could work? GolfSpy_BNG
This is absolutely doable. Tipping the Regular shaft a 1/2” won’t make it a stiff but you are correct in that it will stiffen it up slightly. 1 quick question though. The project x 6.0 shaft you play, is that a wood shaft or iron shaft?Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy What is in my Sun Mountain C-130 bag or Jones MyGolfSpy bag Driver: Dark speed LS 8* set to -1.5* with an Attas Daaas 4x shaft @ 45” Fairway: F85 3 wood with a XPhplexx Agera X @ 42.5” F85 5 wood with a UST Elements Chrome 7F5 @ 41.5" Driving Iron: Rapture 2-Iron Irons: SMS Pros 4-PW with Steelfiber I95s Wedges: SMS 50* T grind with Steelfiber i110s Glide 4.0 46* zz wedge shaft Glide 4.0 E grind 54* zz wedge shaft Putters: Mezz.1 34” 69* lie EV5.1 black 33.5” 69* lie

GolfSpy_BNG
The flex code for project x is strange in that they werent the same for iron or wood shafts until the Hzrdus line. What I mean is your PXV 6.0 is actually stiff+ by their standards. Up until the hzrdus line came out they went this way with their code 5.0-Regular/Irons, Regular+/Woods5.5- Regular+/Irons, Stiff/Woods6.0- Stiff/Irons, Stiff+/ Woods6.5- X-stiff both7.0- X-stiff+ both With that said Project X flex code and Mitsubishi flex code can be very different so the only way to know for sure if tipping the shaft will work for you is to go ahead and do it.
