Titleist “test” ball

... Titleist sends out their new versions early for some of their staff and Team Titleist members to test and then hopefully post their opinions. Comes in a plain white sleeve. Evidently this one didn't test so well.

Looks like the 16 or 17 model Pro V 1 too. 

Otherwise what Chisag said was 100% correct.

I played it for a few holes and I liked it a lot. Good distance and spun well

Yup seems to be a test ball from a tester pack they send out prior to releasing a new ball. The arrows remind me of the 2016 version.

I’ve been sent a number of those sleeves, and unless you do a really good test with it on your own, you don’t know if it’s a new Pro V of some kind, or lesser version. The last sleeve I got seemed to be the lesser kind, not urethane, went REALLY high, and didn’t spin much on the greens. Once the testing is over, they STILL don’t tell you what one you had.

Pro v comes out in odd years. This has the arrows of the 2015 version

Yeah that's possible, I couldn't remember exactly what year it was.

Ahh that's right, I was going with releases on even years. I thought that was 2018 and the one Sluggo had was 2016.

I think some guys think they release a ball every year and start thinking even years. I have a box of the 2019 at home and haven’t looked to see what the lines look like yet. Also placed my order Saturday for the loyalty program

I got a test sleeve once and filled out the questionnaire after testing, but I was never sent anymore for testing.

The stamp above was used for both the 2015 (sent late 2014) and 2017 (sent late 2016) test balls. Black number is the ProV1 and Red number is the ProV1x.

This late in the DEV process means that these were exactly what was coming to retail for the following year.
